But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.

But Jesus has been given a greater work to do for God. He is the go- between for the new covenant. This covenant is better than the old one. The new covenant is based on better promises.

But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.

And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than[ that of] Abel.

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup[ is] the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.And this I say,[ that] the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.For if the inheritance[ be] of the law,[ it is] no more of promise: but God gave[ it] to Abraham by promise.Wherefore then[ serveth] the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made;[ and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.Now a mediator is not[ a mediator] of one, but God is one.[ Is] the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

For if that first[ covenant] had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.For this[ is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.In that he saith, A new[ covenant], he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old[ is] ready to vanish away.

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Who are Israelites; to whom[ pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service[ of God], and the promises;

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions[ that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.For where a testament[ is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.For a testament[ is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.Whereupon neither the first[ testament] was dedicated without blood.For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,Saying, This[ is] the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
