猶太人在利未祭司制度的基礎上承受了律法，如果通過這個祭司制度可以達到純全，又何必照麥基洗德的模式而不是亞倫的模式，另外興起一位祭司呢？既然這祭司制度更改了，律法也必須更改。因為這裡所說的這位祭司屬於別的支派，那支派裡從來沒有在祭壇前供職的祭司。顯然，我們的主基督屬於猶大支派，摩西從來沒有說這個支派會出祭司。如果照麥基洗德的模式另外興起一位祭司，祂做祭司不是照律法要求的血統關係，而是照不能朽壞之生命的大能，事情就更加清楚了。

讓以色列人引以為戒，使亞倫子孫以外的人不致到耶和華面前燒香，以免像可拉及其同夥一樣滅亡。這是按照耶和華藉摩西的吩咐做的。

從人間選出來的大祭司，都是受委任代表人辦理與上帝有關的事，為人的罪向上帝獻上禮物和贖罪祭。

阻止烏西雅王，說：「烏西雅啊，給耶和華燒香不是你可以做的事，乃是承受聖職做祭司的亞倫子孫的事。離開聖所吧！你已干犯耶和華上帝，必不能從祂那裡得榮耀。」手拿香爐要燒香的烏西雅大怒，正當他在耶和華殿裡的香壇旁向眾祭司發怒的時候，他額頭上突然患了痲瘋病。

你們要看守聖所和祭壇，以免我的憤怒再臨到以色列人。

亞伯憑信心向上帝獻祭，比該隱所獻的更美，蒙了上帝的悅納，被稱為義人。他雖然死了，卻仍然藉著信心說話。

以色列人對摩西說：「完了！我們死定了！我們全死定了！凡走近耶和華聖幕的都要死，我們豈不是全都要滅亡嗎？」
