“‘ If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the Lord a young bull without defect as a sin offering for the sin he has committed.He is to present the bull at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it there before the Lord.Then the anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood and carry it into the tent of meeting.He is to dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before the Lord, in front of the curtain of the sanctuary.The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. His sons handed him the blood, and he splashed it against the sides of the altar.But the fat portions of the ox and the ram— the fat tail, the layer of fat, the kidneys and the long lobe of the liver—these they laid on the breasts, and then Aaron burned the fat on the altar.Aaron waved the breasts and the right thigh before the Lord as a wave offering, as Moses commanded.Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having sacrificed the sin offering, the burnt offering and the fellowship offering, he stepped down.Moses and Aaron then went into the tent of meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people; and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people.Fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown. (niv)

“ Give this command to the Israelites and say to them:‘ Make sure that you present to me at the appointed time my food offerings, as an aroma pleasing to me.’Say to them:‘ This is the food offering you are to present to the Lord: two lambs a year old without defect, as a regular burnt offering each day.Offer one lamb in the morning and the other at twilight,together with a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil from pressed olives.This is the regular burnt offering instituted at Mount Sinai as a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.The accompanying drink offering is to be a quarter of a hin of fermented drink with each lamb. Pour out the drink offering to the Lord at the sanctuary.Offer the second lamb at twilight, along with the same kind of grain offering and drink offering that you offer in the morning. This is a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.“‘ On the Sabbath day, make an offering of two lambs a year old without defect, together with its drink offering and a grain offering of two- tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with olive oil.This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (niv)
