For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens;

我們所需要的，正是這樣一位聖潔無瑕、良善純全、遠離罪惡、超越諸天的大祭司。

這樣的一位大祭司，對我們本是合適的。他是聖潔、沒有邪惡、沒有玷污、從罪人中分別出來、高過眾天的。

這樣的大祭司、虔聖、無邪、無染污、隔離罪人、高過諸天、正合乎我們所需要的。

這樣一位聖潔、沒有邪惡、毫無玷汙、與罪人分開、高過諸天的大祭司，對我們實在是合宜的。

夫如是之大祭司、宜乎我儕、乃至聖無惡無污、遠乎罪人、高出諸天、

我之祭司長應為敬虔、無不善、無纖垢、遠乎罪人、直造乎天之極、

如此大祭司、原為我儕所需、聖潔、無玷無垢、遠乎罪人、升天無上、

嗟夫、有若斯聖善純正、無玷無染、遠絕乎罪人、而超軼乎諸天之上者、作吾人之大司祭、不亦美乎！

Such a high priest truly meets our need— one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

A high priest like that really meets our need. He is holy, pure and without blame. He isn’t like other people. He does not sin. He is lifted high above the heavens.

For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven.

For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;

For such a high priest became us, holy, guileless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

For such an high priest became us,[ who is] holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our confession.For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin.

He who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth;

and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,waiting from that time onward until His enemies are made a footstool for His feet.For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,“ This is the covenant which I will make with them After those days, declares the Lord: I will put My laws upon their hearts, And write them on their mind,” He then says,“ And their sins and their lawless deeds I will no longer remember.”Now where there is forgiveness of these things, an offering for sin is no longer required.Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, through His flesh,and since we have a great priest over the house of God,let’s approach God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying,“ This man was in fact innocent.”

And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our crimes; but this man has done nothing wrong.”

looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

So if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood( for on the basis of it the people received the Law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be designated according to the order of Aaron?

For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings.

“ You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engravings of a signet,‘ Holy to the Lord.’

The angel answered and said to her,“ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; for that reason also the holy Child will be called the Son of God.

For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

For he knew that it was because of envy that they had handed Him over.

which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and made Him head over all things to the church,

Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these things, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.For Christ did not enter a holy place made by hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Holy Place year by year with blood that is not his own.Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.”

And he said to them a third time,“ Why, what has this man done wrong? I have found in His case no grounds for a sentence of death; therefore I will punish Him and release Him.”

Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to come into His glory?”

So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

And His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.

You have ascended on high, You have led captive Your captives; You have received gifts among people, Even among the rebellious as well, that the Lord God may dwell there.

I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in regard to Me,

Therefore it says,“ When He ascended on high, He led captive the captives, And He gave gifts to people.”( Now this expression,“ He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)

But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

and He said to them,“ So it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying,“ Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

“ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:

but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
