and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, to the extent that He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.For if that first covenant had been free of fault, no circumstances would have been sought for a second.For in finding fault with the people, He says,“ Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, When I will bring about a new covenant With the house of Israel and the house of Judah,Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers On the day I took them by the hand To bring them out of the land of Egypt; For they did not continue in My covenant, And I did not care about them, says the Lord.For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel After those days, declares the Lord: I will put My laws into their minds, And write them on their hearts. And I will be their God, And they shall be My people.And they will not teach, each one his fellow citizen, And each one his brother, saying,‘ Know the Lord,’ For they will all know Me, From the least to the greatest of them.For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings, And their sins I will no longer remember.”

Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, that is, Jesus our Lord,

In the same way He also took the cup after supper, saying,“ This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

My son, if you have become a guarantor for your neighbor, Or have given a handshake for a stranger,

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying,“ This cup, which is poured out for you, is the new covenant in My blood.

for this is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.

For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the violations that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.For where there is a covenant, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it.For a covenant is valid only when people are dead, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives.Therefore even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood.For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,saying,“ This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded you.”And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood.And almost all things are cleansed with blood, according to the Law, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these things, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Take his garment when he becomes guarantor for a stranger; And for foreigners, seize a pledge from him.

And He said to them,“ This is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many.

And he will confirm a covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come the one who makes desolate, until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, gushes forth on the one who makes desolate.”
