For[ it is] evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David,[ and] the bright and morning star.

And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

And whence[ is] this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Blessed[ be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly[ places] in Christ:

Yea doubtless, and I count all things[ but] loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them[ but] dung, that I may win Christ,

( As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name[ was] Simeon; and the same man[ was] just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this[ is] his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
