and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

若是离弃道理，就不能叫他们从新懊悔了。因为他们把神的儿子重钉十字架，明明地羞辱他。

却背弃了真道，让他们重新悔改是不可能的。因为他们等于把上帝的儿子重新钉在十字架上，使祂再度公开受辱。

如果偏离了正道，就不可能再使他们重新悔改了。因为他们亲自把神的儿子再钉在十字架上，公然羞辱他。

却背弃了真理，就不可能再次更新以至于悔改了。因为他们亲自把神的儿子再次钉上十字架，公然羞辱他。

後若離棄、則不能使之更新而改悔、因其復釘上帝子於十架而顯辱之、

後竟背教、其不克悔改自新、猶復釘上帝子於十字架、而顯辱之、

後竟背教、則不能再悔改自新、因其復釘天主子於十字架而顯辱之、

而竟中途背棄聖道、若而人者、不啻親手重釘基督於十字架上、且當眾而辱之也。欲其再行悔過自新、尚可得乎？

But they have fallen away from the faith. So it won’t be possible to bring them back. They won’t be able to turn away from their sins. They are losing everything. That’s because they are nailing the Son of God to the cross all over again. They are bringing shame on him in front of everyone.

and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.

It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,

If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.

But rebels and sinners will both be broken, and those who forsake the Lord will perish.

Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,

Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying,“ So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days,come down from the cross and save yourself!”In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him among themselves.“ He saved others,” they said,“ but he can’t save himself!Let this Messiah, this king of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe.” Those crucified with him also heaped insults on him.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Two rebels were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their headsand saying,“ You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!”In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him.“ He saved others,” they said,“ but he can’t save himself! So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!

Jesus looked at them and said,“ With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

“ And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.The land will mourn, each clan by itself, with their wives by themselves: the clan of the house of David and their wives, the clan of the house of Nathan and their wives,the clan of the house of Levi and their wives, the clan of Shimei and their wives,and all the rest of the clans and their wives.

The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said,“ He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegarand said,“ If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.”There was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews.One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him:“ Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”

So you testify that you approve of what your ancestors did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.
