若是离弃道理，就不能叫他们从新懊悔了。因为他们把神的儿子重钉十字架，明明地羞辱他。

却背弃了真道，让他们重新悔改是不可能的。因为他们等于把上帝的儿子重新钉在十字架上，使祂再度公开受辱。

如果偏离了正道，就不可能再使他们重新悔改了。因为他们亲自把神的儿子再钉在十字架上，公然羞辱他。

而竟中途背棄聖道、若而人者、不啻親手重釘基督於十字架上、且當眾而辱之也。欲其再行悔過自新、尚可得乎？

and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

But they have fallen away from the faith. So it won’t be possible to bring them back. They won’t be able to turn away from their sins. They are losing everything. That’s because they are nailing the Son of God to the cross all over again. They are bringing shame on him in front of everyone.

既識義道、竟背所受之聖命、莫若不識之為美、

求天主為我造潔淨之心、為我新作正直之志、

仰望耶穌、即始立我信而終成之者、彼思所將得之樂、不以凌辱為意、受十字架之苦、今坐於天主寶座之右、

有二盜同釘十字架、或作釘耶穌時又用兩十字架釘二盜一左一右、過者譏之、搖首曰、爾毀聖殿、三日復建者、今宜自救、爾若為天主之子、可自十字架而下、祭司諸長、經士、長老、亦譏之曰、彼救他人、不能自救、若為以色列王、今可由十字架而下、我則信之、彼賴天主、若為天主所悅、今可拯之、蓋彼嘗言我乃天主子也、同釘十字架之盜、亦如是詬焉、○
