It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,

原來，如果有人蒙過一次光照、嘗過屬天恩賜的滋味、曾經與聖靈有份、

夫人既蒙光照、得承天賚、共與聖神、

乃有始則明道、蒙天錫賚、共享聖神、

蓋人已蒙光照、受天上賞賜、得聖神之感、

蓋人若曾蒙光照、曾味靈寵、曾受聖神、

What if some people fall away from the faith? It won’t be possible to bring them back. It is true that they have seen the light. They have tasted the heavenly gift. They have shared in the Holy Spirit.

For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit,

For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened— those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,

For it is impossible to renew to repentance those who were once enlightened, who tasted the heavenly gift, who shared in the Holy Spirit,

For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,

For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

For it is impossible to renew to repentance those who were once enlightened, who tasted the heavenly gift, became companions with the Holy Spirit,

For[ it is] impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit,

For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.Of them the proverbs are true:“ A dog returns to its vomit,” and,“ A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”

“ You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.

Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”

“ Not everyone who says to me,‘ Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.Many will say to me on that day,‘ Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’

Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering.

“ When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says,‘ I will return to the house I left.’When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order.Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.”

Then he spoke his message:“ The prophecy of Balaam son of Beor, the prophecy of one whose eye sees clearly,the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who has knowledge from the Most High, who sees a vision from the Almighty, who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened:

To this John replied,“ A person can receive only what is given them from heaven.

Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,

I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done.

And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

Jesus said to them,“ Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.

I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.

Jesus answered her,“ If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Peter answered:“ May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.

Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done.

and he spoke his message:“ The prophecy of Balaam son of Beor, the prophecy of one whose eye sees clearly,

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—

So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
