This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

我们有这指望，如同灵魂的锚，又坚固又牢靠，且通入幔内。

我们有这盼望，就像灵魂的锚，又稳当又坚固，通过幔子直进到里面。

我们所拥有的这盼望，像灵魂的锚，又可靠又坚固，并且进到幔子最里层的那至圣所。

我們有這指望，如同靈魂的錨，又堅固又牢靠，且通入幔內。

我們所有的這指望就像靈魂之錨，又穩當又堅固，通入幔後的內聖所；

我們所擁有的這盼望，像靈魂的錨，又可靠又堅固，並且進到幔子最裡層的那至聖所。

我有此望、如魂有錨、入於幔內、鞏固不移、

我所望福、藏于幔內、猶心之有錨、鞏固不移、

我儕有此望、猶心之錨、堅定不移、入於幔內、

此恩諾實為吾人停泊之所、前途遠大、希望無窮、穩而且固。此望也、乃吾人靈魂之鐵錨、而糺於閟帷深處者也。

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

Our hope is certain. It is something for the soul to hold on to. It is strong and secure. It goes all the way into the Most Holy Room behind the curtain.

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and reliable and one which enters within the veil,

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,

which we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil;

We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.

Which[ hope] we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil;

Then there was a curtain, and behind the curtain was the second room called the Most Holy Place.

“ Then Aaron must slaughter the first goat as a sin offering for the people and carry its blood behind the inner curtain. There he will sprinkle the goat’s blood over the atonement cover and in front of it, just as he did with the bull’s blood.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one— for God himself has given us right standing with himself.Who then will condemn us? No one— for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?( As the Scriptures say,“ For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow— not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.No power in the sky above or in the earth below— indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Lord said to Moses,“ Warn your brother, Aaron, not to enter the Most Holy Place behind the inner curtain whenever he chooses; if he does, he will die. For the Ark’s cover— the place of atonement— is there, and I myself am present in the cloud above the atonement cover.

But only the high priest ever entered the Most Holy Place, and only once a year. And he always offered blood for his own sins and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart,

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription:“ The Lord knows those who are his,” and“ All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!

Therefore, strong nations will declare your glory; ruthless nations will fear you.But you are a tower of refuge to the poor, O Lord, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. You are a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat. For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall,

So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.

See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.

So they cut off the anchors and left them in the sea. Then they lowered the rudders, raised the foresail, and headed toward shore.

Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God.He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.

At this rate they were afraid we would soon be driven against the rocks along the shore, so they threw out four anchors from the back of the ship and prayed for daylight.

For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.

By his death, Jesus opened a new and life giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house,

“ But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
