Could you not watch one hour?Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard.

Jesus wept.

“ Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say?‘ Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying,“ I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”

And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed,saying,“ Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said:“ Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,

Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck.

And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said,“ Father,‘ into Your hands I commit My spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last.

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.Then Jesus said to them,“ All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written:‘ I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”Peter answered and said to Him,“ Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”Jesus said to him,“ Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”Peter said to Him,“ Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And so said all the disciples.Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples,“ Sit here while I go and pray over there.”And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.Then He said to them,“ My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.

Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

O Lord, God of my salvation, I have cried out day and night before You.

And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”

For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,

But as for me, my prayer is to You, O Lord, in the acceptable time; O God, in the multitude of Your mercy, Hear me in the truth of Your salvation.Deliver me out of the mire, And let me not sink; Let me be delivered from those who hate me, And out of the deep waters.Let not the floodwater overflow me, Nor let the deep swallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth on me.Hear me, O Lord, for Your lovingkindness is good; Turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies.

He shall bring the bull to the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the Lord, lay his hand on the bull’s head, and kill the bull before the Lord.Then the anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood and bring it to the tabernacle of meeting.The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil of the sanctuary.And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of meeting; and he shall pour the remaining blood of the bull at the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.He shall take from it all the fat of the bull as the sin offering. The fat that covers the entrails and all the fat which is on the entrails,the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the fatty lobe attached to the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove,as it was taken from the bull of the sacrifice of the peace offering; and the priest shall burn them on the altar of the burnt offering.But the bull’s hide and all its flesh, with its head and legs, its entrails and offal—the whole bull he shall carry outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire; where the ashes are poured out it shall be burned.‘ Now if the whole congregation of Israel sins unintentionally, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done something against any of the commandments of the Lord in anything which should not be done, and are guilty;when the sin which they have committed becomes known, then the assembly shall offer a young bull for the sin, and bring it before the tabernacle of meeting.

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

He shall bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests, one of whom shall take from it his handful of fine flour and oil with all the frankincense. And the priest shall burn it as a memorial on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.

But Jesus said to him,“ Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?

I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.

My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent.But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them.They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people.All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,“ He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God.Be not far from Me, For trouble is near; For there is none to help.Many bulls have surrounded Me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion.I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me.My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death.For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me.They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me; O My Strength, hasten to help Me!Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog.Save Me from the lion’s mouth And from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Thus says the Lord:“ In an acceptable time I have heard You, And in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You As a covenant to the people, To restore the earth, To cause them to inherit the desolate heritages;

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
