God again set a certain day, calling it“ Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:“ Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

So God again chose a certain day. He named it Today. He did this when he spoke through David a long time later. Here is what was written in the Scripture already given.“ Listen to his voice today. If you hear it, don’t be stubborn.”( Psalm 95:7, 8)

while it is said,“ Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion.”

For David himself said in the Holy Spirit,‘ The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’

he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul wasn’t left in Hades, and his flesh didn’t see decay.

After these things, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet.Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified,‘ I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’From this man’s offspring, God has brought salvation to Israel according to his promise,
