It is still true that some people will enjoy this rest. But those who had the good news announced to them earlier didn’t go in. That’s because they didn’t obey.

既有必进安息的人，那先前听见福音的，因为不信从，不得进去。

既有这安息保留着让一些人进入，那些先前听见福音的人，因不信从而不得进去，

既有这安息保留着让一些人进入，那些先前听见福音的人，因不信从而不得进去，

既然最终会有人进入安息，而那些从前听过福音的人因为不信没能进去，

既然这安息还留着要让一些人进去，但那些以前听过福音的人，因为不顺从不得进去；

所以，既然这安息为了一些进入它的人被保留下来，可是由于那些原先得以听到福音的人，因着不信从而没有进去，

既然這安息還留著要讓一些人進去，但那些以前聽過福音的人，因為不順從不得進去；

那麼這安息既保留着要給一部分人進入，而先前得聽福音傳給他們的人又因不信、而沒有進入，

所以，既然這安息為了一些進入它的人被保留下來，可是由於那些原先得以聽到福音的人，因著不信從而沒有進去，

既有宜入之人、而先聞福音者、因不順故不入、

然安息終必有人享之、而先聞嘉音者不信故不得享、

如是、必別有得享安息者、但先聞福音者、因不信故、而不得享、

可見後來者必有得入者焉。彼先聞慈音者之不得入、徒以執迷不悟故耳。

Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience,

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,

So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God.

Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news did not enter because of disobedience,

Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who previously had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,

Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some should enter thereinto, and they to whom the good tidings were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,

Since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news did not enter because of disobedience,

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Therefore it remains for some to enter it, yet those to whom it was previously proclaimed did not enter because of disobedience.

Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter into it, and they to whom the good news was preached before failed to enter in because of disobedience,

“ So here is what I tell you. The kingdom of God will be taken away from you. It will be given to people who will produce its fruit.

God promised that those people would never enjoy the rest he planned for them. God gave his word when he made that promise. Didn’t he make that promise to those who didn’t obey?So we see that they weren’t able to enter. That’s because they didn’t believe.

You have said that your enemies would capture your children. But I will bring your children in to enjoy the land you have turned your backs on.

My chosen ones will use your names when they curse others. I am your Lord and King. I will put you to death. But I will give new names to those who serve me.

Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly.“ We had to speak God’s word to you first,” they said.“ But you don’t accept it. You don’t think you are good enough for eternal life. So now we are turning to the Gentiles.This is what the Lord has commanded us to do. He said,“‘ I have made you a light for the Gentiles. You will bring salvation to the whole earth.’ ”( Isaiah 49:6)

So go to the street corners. Invite to the dinner anyone you can find.’So the slaves went out into the streets. They gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good. Soon the wedding hall was filled with guests.

The good news was announced to our people of long ago. It has also been preached to us. The message they heard didn’t have any value for them. That’s because they didn’t share the faith of those who obeyed.

So I will strike them down with a plague. I will destroy them. But I will make you into a greater and stronger nation than they are.”

Long ago, Scripture knew that God would make the Gentiles right with himself. He would do this by their faith in him. He announced the good news ahead of time to Abraham. God said,“ All nations will be blessed because of you.”( Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18)

“ Here is what I want you to know. God has sent his salvation to the Gentiles. And they will listen!”

“ The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry. He ordered his servant,‘ Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the town. Bring in those who are poor. Also bring those who can’t see or walk.’“‘ Sir,’ the servant said,‘ what you ordered has been done. But there is still room.’“ Then the master told his servant,‘ Go out to the roads. Go out to the country lanes. Make the people come in. I want my house to be full.I tell you, not one of those people who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’ ”

So there is still a Sabbath rest for God’s people.

Brothers and sisters, what I mean is that the time is short. From now on, those who have a husband or wife should live as if they did not.
