For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.

The good news was announced to our people of long ago. It has also been preached to us. The message they heard didn’t have any value for them. That’s because they didn’t share the faith of those who obeyed.

For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.

For this good news— that God has prepared this rest— has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God.

我们之所以也不住地感谢神，是因为你们接受了从我们所听的神的话语，没有把它看做人的话语，而是把它看做神的话语接受了；这确实是神的话语，而且它也正在你们这些信的人里面做工。

但是，并不是所有的人都顺从了福音，就如以赛亚所说：“主啊，我们所传的，有谁信了呢？”因此，信是由听而来，听是藉着基督的话而来。

没有信，就不可能蒙神喜悦，因为来到神面前的人，必须相信神存在，并且相信他报偿那些寻求他的人。

因为操练身体，益处还少；但是敬神，对一切的事都有益处，有今生和来生的应许。

因为我们的福音传到你们那里，不仅是藉着话语，也是藉着能力、圣灵和充分的确信。你们知道，为了你们的缘故，我们在你们中间是怎样为人的。

你们知道，我原先传福音给你们，是身体有病的时候。

弟兄们，你们要当心，免得你们中间有人存着不信的邪恶之心，以致离开永生的神。

神兴起了他的仆人，差派他先到你们这里来，要你们每个人转离自己的罪行，好祝福你们。”

因此，你们要脱去一切的污秽和满盈的恶毒，要以温柔的心接受那栽种在你们里面的话语，就是能拯救你们灵魂的话语。

你如果是遵行律法的，割礼才有益处；但你如果是违犯律法的人，你的割礼就不是割礼了。

所以，既然这安息为了一些进入它的人被保留下来，可是由于那些原先得以听到福音的人，因着不信从而没有进去，

即使我把自己所拥有的一切分给穷人，又舍弃自己的身体被人焚烧，却没有爱，对我也毫无益处。

保罗和巴拿巴就放胆直言，说：“神的话语先传给你们是必须的。既然你们弃绝这道，断定自己不配得永恒的生命，看哪，我们就转向外邦人，

他又向谁起誓说，他们绝不能进入他的安息呢？难道不是向那些不肯信从的人吗？这样我们就看出来：他们不能进入，是因不信的缘故。

他们蒙了启示，知道所服事的这一切，不是为自己，而是为你们。如今，这些事藉着从天上派来的圣灵，通过那些向你们传福音的人，传讲给了你们；对于这些事，天使们也渴望能详细察看。

好使所有不相信真理而喜悦不义的人，都被定罪。蒙主所爱的弟兄们，我们应该为你们常常感谢神，因为神为了救恩的缘故，就藉着在圣灵里的分别为圣，以及真理的信仰，拣选了你们做为初熟的果子。

既然经文预先看见神要使外邦人因信称义，就预先把福音传给了亚伯拉罕，说：“万国都要藉着你蒙祝福。”
