For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.

我们不住地感谢上帝，因为你们从我们这里听了上帝的道后就接受了，确信这不是人的道理，而是上帝的道。这道正在你们信的人心里发挥作用。

只是并非人人都信福音，就像以赛亚先知所说的：“主啊！谁相信我们所传的呢？”由此可见，听了道，才会信道；有了基督的话，才有道可听。

没有信心的人不能得到上帝的喜悦，因为来到上帝面前的人必须相信上帝存在，并相信祂会赏赐一切寻求祂的人。

锻炼体魄益处还少，敬虔生活受益无穷，拥有今生和永世的应许。

因为我们传福音给你们不只是靠言语，也靠上帝的能力、圣灵的同在和充分的确据。你们也知道，我们为了你们的缘故怎样在你们中间行事为人。

你们知道，当初是因为我生病才有机会首次向你们传福音。

弟兄姊妹，要谨慎，免得你们当中有人心存恶念，不肯相信，背弃了永活的上帝。

上帝兴起祂的仆人，首先差遣祂到你们中间赐福给你们，使你们脱离罪恶。”

所以你们要除去所有的污秽和一切的恶习，谦卑地领受那已经栽种在你们心里、能救你们灵魂的真道。

如果你遵行律法，割礼才有价值；如果你违犯律法，受了割礼也如同未受割礼。

既然最终会有人进入安息，而那些从前听过福音的人因为不信没能进去，

即使我倾家荡产周济穷人，甚至舍己捐躯任人焚烧，如果没有爱，对我也毫无益处。

保罗和巴拿巴毫不畏惧地说：“上帝的道本该先传给你们，你们既然拒绝接受，认为自己不配得永生，我们现在就把这道传给外族人。

上帝起誓不准谁进入祂的安息呢？不就是那些不肯信从的人吗？可见，他们不能进入上帝的安息是因为不信的缘故。

他们得到启示，知道他们传讲这些事不是为了自己，而是为了你们。现在，那些靠着从天上差来的圣灵向你们传福音的人，已经将这些事传给你们了。连天使也想把这些事看个明白。

使一切不相信真理、反喜爱不义的人都被定罪。主所爱的弟兄姊妹，我们应该时常为你们感谢上帝，因为上帝一开始就拣选了你们，为了使你们借着圣灵得以圣洁，并且相信真理，从而得救。

圣经早就指明，上帝要叫外族人因信而被称为义人，祂预先将福音传给亚伯拉罕，说：“万国必因你而蒙福。”
