又誓之不得入其安息者誰耶、非不順從者乎、

上帝誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非不信之徒乎、

天主誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非違背違背或作不信之人乎、

天主所誓：「不令入吾安寧」者、又誰耶？非心懷狐疑之諸悖逆乎？

And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed?

God promised that those people would never enjoy the rest he planned for them. God gave his word when he made that promise. Didn’t he make that promise to those who didn’t obey?

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, if not to those who disobeyed?

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient?

When the Lord heard what you said, he was angry and solemnly swore:“ No one from this evil generation shall see the good land I swore to give your ancestors, (niv)

not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it. (niv)

Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, (niv)

Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. (niv)

The Lord said to Moses,“ How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? (niv)

But you were unwilling to go up; you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God.You grumbled in your tents and said,“ The Lord hates us; so he brought us out of Egypt to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites to destroy us.Where can we go? Our brothers have made our hearts melt in fear. They say,‘ The people are stronger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the sky. We even saw the Anakites there.’”Then I said to you,“ Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them.The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes,and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”In spite of this, you did not trust in the Lord your God, (niv)

Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his promise.They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the Lord.So he swore to them with uplifted hand that he would make them fall in the wilderness, (niv)

But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.” (niv)

And when the Lord sent you out from Kadesh Barnea, he said,“ Go up and take possession of the land I have given you.” But you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God. You did not trust him or obey him. (niv)

So I declared on oath in my anger,‘ They shall never enter my rest.’” (niv)
