天主於四十年間怒誰、非犯罪而屍仆於曠野者乎、

神四十年之久，又厌烦谁呢？岂不是那些犯罪、尸首倒在旷野的人吗？

神又向谁发怒了四十年之久呢？难道不是那些犯了罪、尸首倒在旷野的人吗？

又四十年彼所不悅者誰耶、非干罰而屍仆於野者乎、

上帝於四十載中憾誰、非犯罪而暴骨於野者乎、

天主所謂：「厭惡斯代、垂四十春」者、又誰耶？非多行不義、卒至暴屍曠野者乎？

And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness?

Who was God angry with for 40 years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned? They died in the desert.

爾曹怨我、故凡爾見數者、自二十歲以上、屍骸俱仆於曠野、

爾雖素知之、我仍欲使爾記憶、昔主救民出伊及、後滅諸不信者、

爾耶利米當告之曰、主如是云、人之屍骸、遍偃各處、猶如糞壤於田、亦若被遺之禾束、在刈者之身後、無人拾之、○

爾曹屍骸、必仆於曠野、爾曹子嗣、必負爾悖逆之罪、在曠野飄流歷四十年、直待爾俱亡成屍、

此眾人雖已見我之榮光、亦見我在伊及與曠野所行之異跡、猶且試我至於十次、不聽我言、

昔摩西與祭司亞倫計以色列人於西乃野、彼時被數者、無一人在今所數者之中、蓋主曾有言曰、其人必死於曠野、故耶孚尼子迦勒與嫩之子約書亞外、其餘無一存留、

蓋主攻之、使盡滅於營中、武士死亡、盡滅於民中、

兄弟乎、我不欲爾不知、昔我列祖皆在雲下、皆徑行海中、皆在雲及海中受洗以歸摩西、皆食靈食、皆飲靈飲、所飲者乃自隨之之靈磐所出、此磐即基督、但彼眾多半不為天主所悅、其屍偃仆於野、此諸事可為我鑒、使我儕勿嗜惡、如彼所嗜焉、亦勿拜偶像、如彼中有人拜者、經載云、民坐而飲食、起而蹈舞、亦勿行淫、如彼中有人行淫、一日殞亡二萬三千人、亦勿試基督、如彼中有人試之、而為蛇所滅、亦勿怨讟、如彼中有人怨讟、而滅於滅命者、彼等遇此諸事、皆可以為鑒、且書之於經、以警我儕末世之人、然則自以為立者、慎勿傾也、爾所遇之試、亦為人之常事、天主可信、不忍爾受試過爾力所能當、使爾受試之時、亦為爾開出路、致爾能當之、
