四十年之久惹上帝發怒的是誰呢？不就是那些犯罪作惡並倒斃在曠野的人嗎？

神四十年之久，又厌烦谁呢？岂不是那些犯罪、尸首倒在旷野的人吗？

神又向谁发怒了四十年之久呢？难道不是那些犯了罪、尸首倒在旷野的人吗？

神四十年之久，又厭煩誰呢？豈不是那些犯罪、屍首倒在曠野的人嗎？

上帝向誰發怒四十年之久呢？豈不是那些犯罪而陳屍在曠野的人嗎？

四十年之久，神向誰發怒呢？不就是向那些犯了罪陳屍曠野的人嗎？

上帝四十年厭惡誰呢？豈不是那些犯了罪、屍首倒在曠野的人麼？

神又向誰發怒了四十年之久呢？難道不是那些犯了罪、屍首倒在曠野的人嗎？

又四十年彼所不悅者誰耶、非干罰而屍仆於野者乎、

上帝於四十載中憾誰、非犯罪而暴骨於野者乎、

天主於四十年間怒誰、非犯罪而屍仆於曠野者乎、

天主所謂：「厭惡斯代、垂四十春」者、又誰耶？非多行不義、卒至暴屍曠野者乎？

And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness?

Who was God angry with for 40 years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned? They died in the desert.

And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness?

With whom was God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?

Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?

And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And who was He provoked with for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

But with whom was he grieved forty years?[ was it] not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

And against whom was God provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?

With whom was he displeased forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

你們當中凡登記在冊、二十歲以上向我發怨言的人，必倒斃在這曠野中，

以下的事情，你們雖然都知道，但我還要再提醒你們：從前上帝把祂的子民從埃及救出來，後來把其中不信的人滅絕了。

耶和華說：「人們必屍橫遍野，像散佈在田野上的糞便，又像收割者身後沒有收集的禾捆。」

而你們必死在這曠野。你們的兒女要在曠野飄泊四十年，為你們的不忠而受苦，直到你們都死在曠野。

他們絕對看不到我起誓要賜給他們祖先的土地，藐視我的人都看不到那片土地。這些人見過我的榮耀，見過我在埃及和曠野所行的神蹟，卻仍然不聽我的話，試探我十次之多。

其中沒有一個是摩西和祭司亞倫從前在西奈曠野登記的人。因為耶和華說過，那批人都要死在曠野。果然，除了耶孚尼的兒子迦勒和嫩的兒子約書亞以外，上次登記的人無一存活。

其實是耶和華的手攻擊他們，直到把他們從營中全部消滅。「所有的戰士都死後，

弟兄姊妹，我希望你們知道，我們的祖先曾經在雲下走過紅海，都在雲下、在海中受洗跟從了摩西。他們都吃過同樣的靈糧，都喝過同樣的靈水，因為他們從那與他們同行的屬靈磐石中得水喝，那磐石就是基督。儘管如此，他們當中大多數人不討上帝的喜悅，倒斃在曠野。如今這些事正好警戒我們，叫我們不要像他們那樣貪戀罪惡，也不要像他們當中的人那樣去祭拜偶像，正如聖經上說：「百姓坐下吃喝，起來狂歡。」我們也不要淫亂，像他們當中的人那樣，結果一天就死了兩萬三千人。也不要試探主，像他們當中的人那樣，結果被蛇咬死了。也不要發怨言，像他們當中的人那樣，結果被滅命的天使毀滅了。發生在他們身上的這些事都是鑑戒，之所以記錄下來是為了警戒我們這活在末世的人。所以，自以為站得穩的人要小心，免得跌倒。你們遇見的誘惑無非是人們常見的。上帝是信實的，祂絕不會讓你們遇見無法抵擋的誘惑，祂必為你們開一條出路，使你們經得住誘惑。
