既然那藉着天使所傳的話是確定的，凡違背不聽從的，都受了該受的報應；

既然藉天使傳下來的話正確無誤，凡干犯、違背的人都受到了應有的報應，

那透過天使所傳講的信息既然是確定的，所有干犯和不聽從的，都受了應得的報應。

因為那由天使宣講之道既這麼確定，以致一切犯法和不聽從的事都當受該受的報應，

要知道，那藉著天使所說的話既然是確定的，連一切過犯和悖逆都受到了應得的報應，

蓋由天使所言若果鞏固、凡干犯不順者、皆受義報、

浸假道藉天使以傳、言出惟行、使諸犯逆、無不遭應得之譴、況吾棄救道、如此之大者、豈能逭乎、

其藉天使所傳之道既確定、凡不順而逆者、皆遭應得之報、

夫以天神所傳之誡命尚且一成不變、有犯必懲；

For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,

Even the message God spoke through angels had to be obeyed. Every time people broke the Law, they were punished. Every time they didn’t obey, they were punished.

For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution,

For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished.

For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,

For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;

For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,

For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty,

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,

you who received the Law as ordained by angels, and yet did not keep it.”

Why the Law then? It was added on account of the violations, having been ordered through angels at the hand of a mediator, until the Seed would come to whom the promise had been made.

Anyone who has ignored the Law of Moses is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

‘ Cursed is anyone who does not fulfill the words of this Law by doing them.’ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen.’

Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

But the person who acts insolently by not listening to the priest who stands there to serve the Lord your God, nor to the judge, that person shall die; so you shall eliminate the evil from Israel.

considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward.

Now I want to remind you, though you know everything once and for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.

then you are to bring out to your gates that man or woman who has done this evil deed, that is, the man or the woman, and you shall stone them to death.

But the person who does wrong defiantly, whether he is a native or a stranger, that one is blaspheming the Lord; and that person shall be cut off from among his people.Since he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt will be on him.’ ”Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation;and they placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done to him.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ The man must be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.”So all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.

“ If there is found in your midst, in any of your towns which the Lord your God is giving you, a man or a woman who does what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, by violating His covenant,

And he said to them,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ Every man of you put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate in the camp, and kill every man his brother, and every man his friend, and every man his neighbor.’ ”So the sons of Levi did as Moses instructed, and about three thousand men of the people fell that day.

Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died.

Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their livestock drank.But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,“ Since you did not trust in Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, for that reason you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

But those who died by the plague were 14,700 in number, besides those who died on account of Korah.

Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on the fire and offered strange fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them.And fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.

While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very severe plague.

Your eyes have seen what the Lord has done in the case of Baal peor, for all the men who followed Baal peor, the Lord your God has destroyed them from among you.But you who clung to the Lord your God are alive today, every one of you.

Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased; for their dead bodies were spread out in the wilderness.Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they indeed craved them.Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written:“ The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.”Nor are we to commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and twenty three thousand fell in one day.Nor are we to put the Lord to the test, as some of them did, and were killed by the snakes.Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer.Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.Therefore let the one who thinks he stands watch out that he does not fall.

And as he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open;and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, and all the people who belonged to Korah with all their possessions.So they and all that belonged to them went down alive to Sheol; and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.Then all Israel who were around them fled at their outcry, for they said,“ The earth might swallow us!”Fire also came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.

Say to them,‘ As I live,’ declares the Lord,‘ just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you;your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness, all your numbered men according to your complete number from twenty years old and upward, who have grumbled against Me.By no means will you come into the land where I swore to settle you, except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.Your children, however, whom you said would become plunder— I will bring them in, and they will know the land which you have rejected.But as for you, your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness.Also, your sons will be shepherds in the wilderness for forty years, and they will suffer for your unfaithfulness, until your bodies perish in the wilderness.In accordance with the number of days that you spied out the land, forty days, for every day you shall suffer the punishment for your guilt a year, that is, forty years, and you will know My opposition.I, the Lord, have spoken, I certainly will do this to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against Me. They shall be worn out in this wilderness, and there they shall die.’ ”As for the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, and who returned and led all the congregation to grumble against him by bringing a bad report about the land,those men who brought the bad report of the land also died by a plague in the presence of the Lord.

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,

But those who died from the plague were twenty four thousand in number.

May my teaching drip as the rain, My speech trickle as the dew, As droplets on the fresh grass, And as the showers on the vegetation.

“ Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and have all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then have all the congregation stone him.You shall also speak to the sons of Israel, saying,‘ If anyone curses his God, then he will bear the responsibility for his sin.Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the Lord must be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The stranger as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.

The chariots of God are myriads, thousands upon thousands; The Lord is among them as at Sinai, in holiness.
