Therefore I will always remind you about these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have.I think it is right, as long as I am in this bodily tent, to wake you up with a reminder,

Dear friends, this is now the second letter I have written to you; in both letters, I want to stir up your sincere understanding by way of reminder,

Long ago God spoke to our ancestors by the prophets at different times and in different ways.In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things and made the universe through him.

Maintain sound wisdom and discretion. My son, don’t lose sight of them.

And I will also make every effort so that you are able to recall these things at any time after my departure.

“ Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you don’t forget the things your eyes have seen and so that they don’t slip from your mind as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping your word.

And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: My son, do not take the Lord’s discipline lightly or lose heart when you are reproved by him,

So diligently watch yourselves! Love the LORD your God!If you ever turn away and become loyal to the rest of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry or associate with them and they with you,

Then you will succeed if you carefully follow the statutes and ordinances the LORD commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or discouraged.

Listen, sons, to a father’s discipline, and pay attention so that you may gain understanding,for I am giving you good instruction. Don’t abandon my teaching.When I was a son with my father, tender and precious to my mother,he taught me and said,“ Your heart must hold on to my words. Keep my commands and live.

he said to them,“ Take to heart all these words I am giving as a warning to you today, so that you may command your children to follow all the words of this law carefully.For they are not meaningless words to you but they are your life, and by them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

My son, pay attention to my words; listen closely to my sayings.Don’t lose sight of them; keep them within your heart.For they are life to those who find them, and health to one’s whole body.

For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation had its beginning when it was spoken of by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us by those who heard him.At the same time, God also testified by signs and wonders, various miracles, and distributions of gifts from the Holy Spirit according to his will.

Do you have eyes and not see; do you have ears and not hear? And do you not remember?

Don’t you understand yet? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many baskets you collected?

See to it that you do not reject the one who speaks. For if they did not escape when they rejected him who warned them on earth, even less will we if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven.His voice shook the earth at that time, but now he has promised, Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.

Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God that he made with you, and make an idol for yourselves in the shape of anything he has forbidden you.

You will be filled with disgrace instead of glory. You also— drink, and expose your uncircumcision! The cup in the LORD’s right hand will come around to you, and utter disgrace will cover your glory.

“ Let these words sink in: The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.”

Look! I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter, impetuous nation that marches across the earth’s open spaces to seize territories not its own.
