Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so.

Don’t let all kinds of strange teachings lead you astray. It is good that God’s grace makes our hearts strong. Don’t try to grow strong by eating foods that the law requires. They have no value for the people who eat them.

Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.

So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them.

Everyone who touches them shall be unclean.Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.He who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.“‘ These are they which are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard,the gecko, and the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening.Anything they fall on when they are dead shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening. Then it will be clean.Every earthen vessel into which any of them falls and all that is in it shall be unclean. You shall break it.All food which may be eaten which is soaked in water shall be unclean. All drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.“‘ This is the law of the animal, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth,to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.’”

If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and doesn’t consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,he is conceited, knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, insulting, evil suspicions,constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. Withdraw yourself from such.

You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same things to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.For those who are such don’t serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.

not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.

But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron,forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving.For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.

rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ.

Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,

Let no one therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.Let no one rob you of your prize by self- abasement and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,and not holding firmly to the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with God’s growth.If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,

I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different“ good news”,but there isn’t another“ good news.” Only there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the Good News of Christ.But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any“ good news” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any“ good news” other than that which you received, let him be cursed.

But Peter said,“ Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”A voice came to him again the second time,“ What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean.”This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven.

not to be quickly shaken in your mind, and not be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as if from us, saying that the day of Christ has already come.

This is a symbol of the present age, where gifts and sacrifices are offered that are incapable, concerning the conscience, of making the worshiper perfect,being only( with meats and drinks and various washings) fleshly ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.

Now I say this that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.

Now, brothers, I entrust you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up, and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Jesus answered them,“ Be careful that no one leads you astray.

Beloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Why? Because I don’t love you? God knows.But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from those who desire an occasion, that in which they boast, they may be found even as we.For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles.And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted.

One man has faith to eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.

for God’s Kingdom is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

“ Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we don’t eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.

You shall not eat any abominable thing.These are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat,the deer, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, and the chamois.Every animal that parts the hoof, and has the hoof split in two and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.Nevertheless these you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of those who have the hoof split: the camel, the hare, and the rabbit. They shall not be eaten.Of all clean birds you may eat.You shall not eat of anything that dies of itself. You may give it to the foreigner living among you who is within your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to a foreigner; for you are a holy people to Yahweh your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.
