For we have not here an abiding city, but we seek after the city which is to come.

For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.

Here we do not have a city that lasts. But we are looking for the city that is going to come.

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, give diligence that ye may be found in peace, without spot and blameless in his sight.

But this I say, brethren, the time is shortened, that henceforth both those that have wives may be as though they had none;

So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow- citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,

By faith he became a sojourner in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:for he looked for the city which hath the foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your resting- place; because of uncleanness that destroyeth, even with a grievous destruction.

For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven:if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit.Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord( for we walk by faith, not by sight);we are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.

There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:
