About brotherly love: You don’t need me to write you because you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.In fact, you are doing this toward all the brothers and sisters in the entire region of Macedonia. But we encourage you, brothers and sisters, to do this even more,

and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

This is how God’s children and the devil’s children become obvious. Whoever does not do what is right is not of God, especially the one who does not love his brother or sister.For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another,unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.Do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. But I have this against you: You have abandoned the love you had at first.
