Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever?

再者，我们曾有生身的父管教我们，我们尚且敬重他，何况万灵的父，我们岂不更当顺服他得生吗？

再者，我们曾有肉身之父管教我们，我们尚且敬重他，何况灵性之父，我们岂不更当顺服他而得生命吗？

再者，我们曾有肉身之父管教我们，我们尚且敬重他，何况灵性之父，我们岂不更当顺服他而得生命吗？

再者，我们的生身父亲管教我们，我们尚且敬重他们，何况是万灵之父上帝管教我们，我们岂不更要顺服祂并得到生命吗？

还有，肉身的父亲管教我们，我们尚且敬重他们；何况那万灵的父，我们不是更要顺服他而得生吗？

再者，我们有肉身的父亲来管教我们，我们尚且敬重他们，何况对这位万灵之父，我们难道不更要服从他而活着吗？

再者，我們有我們肉身之父管教我們，我們尚且尊敬他們，何況靈性之父，我們豈不更當順服他而活麼？

再者，我們有肉身的父親來管教我們，我們尚且敬重他們，何況對這位萬靈之父，我們難道不更要服從他而活著嗎？

且我生身之父懲我、我尚敬之、況諸神之父、不更宜服之以得生乎、

生我身之父責我、而我敬之、況賦我神之父、豈不當誠服以得永生乎、

生我身之父、懲我而我敬之、況賦畀我神之父、豈不更當服之以致得永生乎、

即吾人肉身之父、亦曾加吾人以訓責矣；而吾人猶孝之順之。矧在吾人靈心之父、不更當孝之順之、以邀永生乎？

Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live!

Besides, we have all had human fathers who trained us. We respected them for it. How much more should we be trained by the Father of spirits and live!

Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?

Furthermore, we had human fathers discipline us, and we respected them. Shouldn’t we submit even more to the Father of spirits and live?

Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?

Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

Furthermore, we had natural fathers discipline us, and we respected them. Shouldn’t we submit even more to the Father of spirits and live?

Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected[ us], and we gave[ them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

Besides, we have experienced discipline from our earthly fathers and we respected them; shall we not submit ourselves all the more to the Father of spirits and receive life?

Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?

But Moses and Aaron fell face down on the ground.“ O God,” they pleaded,“ you are the God who gives breath to all creatures. Must you be angry with all the people when only one man sins?”

“ O Lord, you are the God who gives breath to all creatures. Please appoint a new man as leader for the community.

God, the Lord, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the earth and everything in it. He gives breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth. And it is he who says,

Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.

‘ Cursed is anyone who dishonors father or mother.’ And all the people will reply,‘ Amen.’

For the life of every living thing is in his hand, and the breath of every human being.

This message concerning the fate of Israel came from the Lord:“ This message is from the Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit.

“ Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

“ Each of you must show great respect for your mother and father, and you must always observe my Sabbath days of rest. I am the Lord your God.

The eye that mocks a father and despises a mother’s instructions will be plucked out by ravens of the valley and eaten by vultures.

For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

“ Suppose a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or mother, even though they discipline him.In such a case, the father and mother must take the son to the elders as they hold court at the town gate.The parents must say to the elders,‘ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious and refuses to obey. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’Then all the men of his town must stone him to death. In this way, you will purge this evil from among you, and all Israel will hear about it and be afraid.

Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live!

Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.“ Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:If you honor your father and mother,“ things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

Fathers and mothers are treated with contempt. Foreigners are forced to pay for protection. Orphans and widows are wronged and oppressed among you.

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says to the priests:“ A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master. If I am your father and master, where are the honor and respect I deserve? You have shown contempt for my name!“ But you ask,‘ How have we ever shown contempt for your name?’

But he was a prophet, and he knew God had promised with an oath that one of David’s own descendants would sit on his throne.

The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line,

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are their ancestors, and Christ himself was an Israelite as far as his human nature is concerned. And he is God, the one who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.

for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed— cut off from Christ!— if that would save them.

For I will not fight against you forever; I will not always be angry. If I were, all people would pass away— all the souls I have made.
