為受管教而堅忍着吧！上帝是待你們做兒子呢。哪有兒子、而父親不管教的呢？

你们所忍受的，是神管教你们，待你们如同待儿子。焉有儿子不被父亲管教的呢？

为了受管教，你们要忍受。上帝待你们如同待儿女。哪有儿女不被父亲管教的呢？

爾若受懲、則是天主待爾如子、焉有父而不懲其子者乎、

是知爾所遭受之一切苦痛、所以予爾以磨練也。天主以爾為子、故待爾如此。夫焉有子而不蒙嚴訓者乎？

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?

Put up with hard times. God uses them to train you. He is treating you as his children. What children are not trained by their parents?

It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?

趁有指望時、要管教你的兒子；不可立意害死他。

責打的刑打能增加智慧；放縱的孩子使母親羞愧。

不用刑杖的、是恨惡兒子；真愛兒子的、總設法管教。

你心裏要知道、永恆主你的上帝在管教你，就像人管教兒子一樣。

管教你的兒子，他就使你得安寧；他必使你的心得到快樂。

不可顧惜而不管教兒童；你用刑杖擊打他，他必不至於死。你用刑杖擊打他，你卻可以援救他不早下陰間。

『有誰對上帝說過：「我擔受了責罰，我不再有敗壞的行為了。我所看不明的、求你指教我；我若作了孽，我必不再作」。

是我要做他的父，是他要做我的兒子；他若有了罪孽，我必用人的刑杖用人類的鞭責打他。

愚妄纏住兒童的心；管教的棍子能把它趕得遠遠。

堅固門徒的心，鼓勵他們要堅守信仰。又說我們要進上帝的國、經由許多苦難是必須的。』
