You have come to the church of God’s people. God’s first and only Son is over all things. God’s people share in what belongs to his Son. Their names are written in heaven. You have come to God, who is the Judge of all people. You have come to the spirits of godly people who have been made perfect.

Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,

Then say to Pharaoh,‘ This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son,

since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

Far be it from you to do such a thing— to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized.We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble youand give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.

And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,

By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast— all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.

These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb.

let them sing before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;

Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for herto make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

But now, please forgive their sin— but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written.”

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.Only let us live up to what we have already attained.Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

( If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)

In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.

He must acknowledge the son of his unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double share of all he has. That son is the first sign of his father’s strength. The right of the firstborn belongs to him.

And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.

And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.

We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Praise the Lord. I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.

“ Gather to me this consecrated people, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a God of justice.

Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co- workers, whose names are in the book of life.

May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.

Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

“ Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether human or animal.”

When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true:“ Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back. I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble, because I am Israel’s father, and Ephraim is my firstborn son.
