You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm;

You haven’t come to a mountain that can be touched. You haven’t come to a mountain burning with fire. You haven’t come to darkness, gloom and storm.

For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest

You have not come to a physical mountain, to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai.

你們來到山腳下，站在那裡，山上烈焰沖天、烏雲密佈、極其幽暗。

那時雷電交加，號角嘹亮，山上冒煙，百姓看見此情景，都嚇得渾身顫抖，不敢挨近。

「這是耶和華在山上的烈火、烏雲和幽暗中高聲頒佈給你們全體會眾的誡命。此外，祂沒有說別的。祂把這些話寫在兩塊石版上交給我。當時，山上燃燒著烈焰，你們聽見聲音從黑暗中傳來。你們各支派的首領和長老都到我跟前，說，『看啊，我們的上帝耶和華向我們彰顯了祂的榮耀和威嚴，我們聽見了祂從火中發出的聲音。今天我們已經看見，人聽見上帝說話後還能活著。但我們何必冒死，被這烈火吞噬呢？我們若再次聽到我們的上帝耶和華的聲音，必然喪命。世上有誰像我們一樣聽見永活上帝從火中說話後還能活著呢？

在以色列人眼中，耶和華的榮耀在山上好像烈火。

因為上帝賜給我們的不是懦弱的心，而是剛強、仁愛、自律的心。

你們接受的聖靈不是使你們做奴隸，仍舊害怕，而是使你們做兒子，可以稱上帝為「阿爸，父親」。

那定人罪的事工尚且有榮耀，這使人被稱為義人的事工豈不更有榮耀嗎？

此外，你要在山的四圍劃定界線，吩咐百姓不得上山或碰到界線，違例者死。你們不可用手觸摸違例者，要用石頭打死他或用箭射死他，牲畜也不例外。百姓要一直等到聽見角聲長鳴才可上山。」於是，摩西下山回到百姓那裡，吩咐他們各人潔淨自己，洗淨衣服。又吩咐他們說：「到後天一切都要準備好，這期間你們不可親近女人。」到了第三天早晨，山上雷電大作，烏雲密佈，又有嘹亮的號角聲，營中的百姓都膽戰心驚。摩西率領百姓出營迎接上帝，他們都站在山腳下。因為耶和華在火中降臨到西奈山，整座山都冒著濃煙，滾滾上騰，好像一個大火窯，整座山都震動起來。號角聲越來越嘹亮。摩西說話，上帝就回應他，聲音好像雷鳴。耶和華降臨在西奈山頂，召摩西到山頂，摩西就上去了。耶和華對摩西說：「你下去囑咐百姓不可闖過界線到我這裡觀看，以免很多人死亡。吩咐到我面前來的祭司要潔淨自己，免得我忽然出來擊殺他們。」

罪不能再主宰你們，因為你們已經不在律法之下，而是在恩典之中。
