慎之哉、恐有失上帝恩者、恐有苦根發萌以擾爾、致眾玷污、

慎勿失上帝恩、恐有若惡草、根株滋長、妨爾浼眾、

當謹慎、恐爾中有失天主之恩者、恐有毒根滋長、妨礙爾眾、使多人染穢污、

又宜互相檢點、莫使有一人退化、而自絕於天主之聖寵；莫使辛螫之根苗、萌櫱滋蔓、為厲之階、而令眾人受其沾染；

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Be sure that no one misses out on God’s grace. See to it that a bitter plant doesn’t grow up. If it does, it will cause trouble. And it will make many people impure.

See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no“ root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.

You who are trying to be declared righteous by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace!

Now because we are fellow workers, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast affects the whole batch of dough?

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit,maintain yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life.

I planted you in the land like a special vine of the very best stock. Why in the world have you turned into something like a wild vine that produces rotten, foul-smelling grapes?

Therefore we must be wary that, while the promise of entering his rest remains open, none of you may seem to have come short of it.

Do not be deceived:“ Bad company corrupts good morals.”

And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.And let us take thought of how to spur one another on to love and good works,not abandoning our own meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and even more so because you see the day drawing near.For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us,but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God’s enemies.Someone who rejected the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for the Son of God, and profanes the blood of the covenant that made him holy, and insults the Spirit of grace?For we know the one who said,“ Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” and again,“ The Lord will judge his people.”It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.But remember the former days when you endured a harsh conflict of suffering after you were enlightened.At times you were publicly exposed to abuse and afflictions, and at other times you came to share with others who were treated in that way.For in fact you shared the sufferings of those in prison, and you accepted the confiscation of your belongings with joy, because you knew that you certainly had a better and lasting possession.So do not throw away your confidence, because it has great reward.

Therefore, dear friends, since you are waiting for these things, strive to be found at peace, without spot or blemish, when you come into his presence.

Put yourselves to the test to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize regarding yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you– unless, indeed, you fail the test!

For their vine is from the stock of Sodom, and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes contain venom, their clusters of grapes are bitter.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to be sure of your calling and election. For by doing this you will never stumble into sin.

But we passionately want each of you to demonstrate the same eagerness for the fulfillment of your hope until the end,

The sin we committed at Peor was bad enough. To this very day we have not purified ourselves; it even brought a plague on the community of the LORD.Now today you dare to turn back from following the LORD! You are rebelling today against the LORD; tomorrow he may break out in anger against the entire community of Israel.But if your own land is impure, cross over to the LORD’s own land, where the LORD himself lives, and settle down among us. But don’t rebel against the LORD or us by building for yourselves an altar aside from the altar of the LORD our God.When Achan son of Zerah disobeyed the command about the city’s riches, the entire Israelite community was judged, though only one man had sinned. He most certainly died for his sin!’”

But among you there must not be either sexual immorality, impurity of any kind, or greed, as these are not fitting for the saints.

So let the one who thinks he is standing be careful that he does not fall.

Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty,

Indeed Israel is the vineyard of the LORD who commands armies, the people of Judah are the cultivated place in which he took delight. He waited for justice, but look what he got– disobedience! He waited for fairness, but look what he got– cries for help!

Again, however, pay very careful attention, lest you forget the things you have seen and disregard them for the rest of your life; instead teach them to your children and grandchildren.

What more can I do for my vineyard beyond what I have already done? When I waited for it to produce edible grapes, why did it produce sour ones instead?

You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered from thorns or figs from thistles, are they?In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit.

but I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. When you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Joshua said,“ Why have you brought disaster on us? The LORD will bring disaster on you today!” All Israel stoned him to death.( They also stoned and burned the others.)Then they erected over him a large pile of stones( it remains to this very day) and the LORD’s anger subsided. So that place is called the Valley of Disaster to this very day.

Guard your heart with all vigilance, for from it are the sources of life.

And the rest of the Jews also joined with him in this hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray with them by their hypocrisy.

He will hand Israel over to their enemies because of the sins which Jeroboam committed and which he made Israel commit.”

Thus we must make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

But false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. These false teachers will infiltrate your midst with destructive heresies, even to the point of denying the Master who bought them. As a result, they will bring swift destruction on themselves.And many will follow their debauched lifestyles. Because of these false teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.

Since all these things are to melt away in this manner, what sort of people must we be, conducting our lives in holiness and godliness,

Moses said to Aaron,“ What did this people do to you, that you have brought on them so great a sin?”

So put to deat h whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry.

Love never ends. But if there are prophecies, they will be set aside; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be set aside.

For by speaking high- sounding but empty words they are able to entice, with fleshly desires and with debauchery, people who have just escaped from those who reside in error.

But avoid profane chatter, because those occupied with it will stray further and further into ungodliness,and their message will spread its infection like gangrene. Hymenaeus and Philetus are in this group.

But be careful when you are setting apart the riches for the LORD. If you take any of it, you will make the Israelite camp subject to annihilation and cause a disaster.

Do you not know that all the runners in a stadium compete, but only one receives the prize? So run to win.Each competitor must exercise self- control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.So I do not run uncertainly or box like one who hits only air.Instead I subdue my body and make it my slave, so that after preaching to others I myself will not be disqualified.

Even from among your own group men will arise, teaching perversions of the truth to draw the disciples away after them.Therefore be alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you with tears.
