Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and by it, defiling many.

慎之哉、恐有失上帝恩者、恐有苦根發萌以擾爾、致眾玷污、

慎勿失上帝恩、恐有若惡草、根株滋長、妨爾浼眾、

當謹慎、恐爾中有失天主之恩者、恐有毒根滋長、妨礙爾眾、使多人染穢污、

又宜互相檢點、莫使有一人退化、而自絕於天主之聖寵；莫使辛螫之根苗、萌櫱滋蔓、為厲之階、而令眾人受其沾染；

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Be sure that no one misses out on God’s grace. See to it that a bitter plant doesn’t grow up. If it does, it will cause trouble. And it will make many people impure.

See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no“ root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.

Watch out, brothers, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that departs from the living God.

Be sure there is no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Be sure there is no root among you bearing poisonous and bitter fruit.

You who are trying to be justified by the law are alienated from Christ; you have fallen from grace.

Working together with Him, we also appeal to you,“ Don’t receive God’s grace in vain.”

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast permeates the whole batch of dough?

But you, dear friends, as you build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit,keep yourselves in the love of God, expecting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.

I planted you, a choice vine from the very best seed. How then could you turn into a degenerate, foreign vine?

Therefore, while the promise to enter His rest remains, let us fear that none of you should miss it.

Do not be deceived:“ Bad company corrupts good morals.”

Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works,not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries.If anyone disregards Moses’ law, he dies without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace?For we know the One who has said, Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge His people.It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!Remember the earlier days when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings.Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way.For you sympathized with the prisoners and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, knowing that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession.So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

Therefore, dear friends, while you wait for these things, make every effort to be found at peace with Him without spot or blemish.

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you yourselves not recognize that Jesus Christ is in you?— unless you fail the test.

For their vine is from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are poisonous; their clusters are bitter.

Therefore, brothers, make every effort to confirm your calling and election, because if you do these things you will never stumble.

Now we want each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the final realization of your hope,

Wasn’t the sin of Peor, which brought a plague on the Lord’s community, enough for us, so that we have not cleansed ourselves from it even to this day,and now, you would turn away from the Lord? If you rebel against the Lord today, tomorrow He will be angry with the entire community of Israel.But if the land you possess is defiled, cross over to the land the Lord possesses where the Lord’s tabernacle stands, and take possession of it among us. But don’t rebel against the Lord or against us by building for yourselves an altar other than the altar of the Lord our God.Wasn’t Achan son of Zerah unfaithful regarding what was set apart for destruction, bringing wrath on the entire community of Israel? He was not the only one who perished because of his sin.’”

But sexual immorality and any impurity or greed should not even be heard of among you, as is proper for saints.

So, whoever thinks he stands must be careful not to fall.

We must, therefore, pay even more attention to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away.For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,

For the vineyard of the Lord of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah, the plant He delighted in. He looked for justice but saw injustice, for righteousness, but heard cries of wretchedness.

“ Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you don’t forget the things your eyes have seen and so that they don’t slip from your mind as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.

What more could I have done for My vineyard than I did? Why, when I expected a yield of good grapes, did it yield worthless grapes?

You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles?In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit.A good tree can’t produce bad fruit; neither can a bad tree produce good fruit.

But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Joshua said,“ Why have you troubled us? Today the Lord will trouble you!” So all Israel stoned them to death. Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.

He will give up Israel because of Jeroboam’s sins that he committed and caused Israel to commit.”

Let us then make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves.Many will follow their unrestrained ways, and the way of truth will be blasphemed because of them.

Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness

Then Moses asked Aaron,“ What did these people do to you that you have led them into such a grave sin?”

Therefore, put to death what belongs to your worldly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for languages, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.

For by uttering boastful, empty words, they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped from those who live in error.

But avoid irreverent, empty speech, for this will produce an even greater measure of godlessness.And their word will spread like gangrene; Hymenaeus and Philetus are among them.

But keep yourselves from the things set apart, or you will be set apart for destruction. If you take any of those things, you will set apart the camp of Israel for destruction and bring disaster on it.

Don’t you know that the runners in a stadium all race, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way to win the prize.Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. However, they do it to receive a crown that will fade away, but we a crown that will never fade away.Therefore I do not run like one who runs aimlessly or box like one beating the air.Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

And men will rise up from your own number with deviant doctrines to lure the disciples into following them.Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you with tears.
