他因着信，就在所应许之地作客，好像在异地居住帐棚，与那同蒙一个应许的以撒、雅各一样。

以信而旅於所許之地、如在異地、偕共承上帝所許之以撒雅各居於幕、

為旅於上帝許賜之地、猶在異邦、以撒雅各亦蒙上帝所許、與亞伯拉罕各居於幕、

彼有信而為旅於天主所許之地、如在異邦、居於幕、與後蒙應許之以撒雅各同、

復憑信德、而羇旅於承許之地、與共承恩諾之依灑格雅各伯同寓棚帳之中；

By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.

Because of his faith he made his home in the land God had promised him. Abraham was like an outsider in a strange country. He lived there in tents. So did Isaac and Jacob. They received the same promise he did.

By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.

And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith— for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise.

By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents as did Isaac and Jacob, coheirs of the same promise.

By faith he lived as a stranger in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise;

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as[ in] a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

By faith he lived as a foreigner in the promised land as though it were a foreign country, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, who were fellow heirs of the same promise.

By faith, he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.

从那里他又迁到伯特利东边的山，支搭帐棚；西边是伯特利，东边是艾。他在那里又为耶和华筑了一座坛，求告耶和华的名。

亚伯兰就搬了帐棚，来到希伯仑、幔利的橡树那里居住，在那里为耶和华筑了一座坛。

他们问亚伯拉罕说：“你妻子撒拉在哪里？”他说：“在帐棚里。”

照样，神愿意为那承受应许的人格外显明他的旨意是不更改的，就起誓为证。

他从南地渐渐往伯特利去，到了伯特利和艾的中间，就是从前支搭帐棚的地方，

耶和华站在梯子以上，说：“我是耶和华你祖亚伯拉罕的神，也是以撒的神；我要将你现在所躺卧之地赐给你和你的后裔。你的后裔必像地上的尘沙那样多，必向东西南北开展；地上万族必因你和你的后裔得福。

雅各对约瑟说：“全能的神曾在迦南地的路斯向我显现，赐福与我，对我说：‘我必使你生养众多，成为多民，又要把这地赐给你的后裔，永远为业。’

雅各来到他父亲以撒那里，到了基列亚巴的幔利，乃是亚伯拉罕和以撒寄居的地方；基列亚巴就是希伯仑。

在这地方，神并没有给他产业，连立足之地也没有给他；但应许要将这地赐给他和他的后裔为业；那时他还没有儿子。神说：‘他的后裔必寄居外邦，那里的人要叫他们作奴仆，苦待他们四百年。’

亚伯拉罕急忙进帐棚见撒拉，说：“你速速拿三细亚细面调和做饼。”

耶和华在幔利橡树那里向亚伯拉罕显现出来。那时正热，亚伯拉罕坐在帐棚门口，举目观看，见有三个人在对面站着。他一见，就从帐棚门口跑去迎接他们，俯伏在地，

我要将你现在寄居的地，就是迦南全地，赐给你和你的后裔永远为业，我也必作他们的神。”

你寄居在这地，我必与你同在，赐福给你，因为我要将这些地都赐给你和你的后裔。我必坚定我向你父亚伯拉罕所起的誓。我要加增你的后裔，像天上的星那样多，又要将这些地都赐给你的后裔。并且地上万国必因你的后裔得福；

“我在你们中间是外人，是寄居的。求你们在这里给我一块地，我好埋葬我的死人，使她不在我眼前。”

将应许亚伯拉罕的福赐给你和你的后裔，使你承受你所寄居的地为业，就是神赐给亚伯拉罕的地。”

两个孩子渐渐长大，以扫善于打猎，常在田野；雅各为人安静，常住在帐棚里。
