By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out without understanding where he was going.

亞伯拉罕有信、蒙主命、往將獲以為業之地、即遵命而出、臨出之時、尚不知所往、

亞伯漢亦憑信德、心從天主之命、不惜離鄉背井、以覓承許為嗣業之地。方其就道、固茫然不知己之奚適也。

By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

Abraham had faith. So he obeyed God. God called him to go to a place he would later receive as his own. So he went. He did it even though he didn’t know where he was going.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.

Now the LORD said to Abram,“ Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household to the land that I will show you.Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing.I will bless those who bless you, but the one who treats you lightly I must curse, and all the families of the earth will bless one another by your name.”So Abram left, just as the LORD had told him to do, and Lot went with him.( Now Abram was 75 years old when he departed from Haran.)

So he replied,“ Brothers and fathers, listen to me. The God of glory appeared to our forefather Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he settled in Haran,and said to him,‘ Go out from your country and from your relatives, and come to the land I will show you.’Then he went out from the country of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After his father died, God made him move to this country where you now live.

You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from a pure heart.

The LORD appeared to Abram and said,“ To your descendants I will give this land.” So Abram built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him.

But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says,“ Lord, who has believed our report?”

“ Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, but it did not collapse because it had been founded on rock.

the promise he made to Abraham, the promise he made by oath to Isaac!He gave it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as a lasting promise,saying,“ To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.”

Because you have obeyed me, all the nations of the earth will pronounce blessings on one another using the name of your descendants.’”

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith save him?If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacks daily food,and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, keep warm and eat well,” but you do not give them what the body needs, what good is it?

For it is time for judgment to begin, starting with the house of God. And if it starts with us, what will be the fate of those who are disobedient to the gospel of God?

I will give all the land that you see to you and your descendants forever.And I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone is able to count the dust of the earth, then your descendants also can be counted.Get up and walk throughout the land, for I will give it to you.”

The LORD said to him,“ I am the LORD who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.”But Abram said,“ O sovereign LORD, by what can I know that I am to possess it?”

Through faith they conquered kingdoms, administered justice, gained what was promised, shut the mouths of lions,

It is not because of your righteousness, or even your inner uprightness, that you have come here to possess their land. Instead, because of the wickedness of these nations the LORD your God is driving them out ahead of you in order to confirm the promise he made on oath to your ancestors, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Look at Abraham, your father, and Sarah, who gave you birth. When I summoned him, he was a lone individual, but I blessed him and gave him numerous descendants.

but I took your father Abraham from beyond the Euphrates and brought him into the entire land of Canaan. I made his descendants numerous; I gave him Isaac,

Through him we have received grace and our apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of his name.

Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot( the son of Haran), and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and with them he set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. When they came to Haran, they settled there.

I will give the whole land of Canaan– the land where you are now residing– to you and your descendants after you as a permanent possession. I will be their God.”

Who stirs up this one from the east? Who officially commissions him for service? He hands nations over to him, and enables him to subdue kings. He makes them like dust with his sword, like windblown straw with his bow.

But thanks be to God that though you were slaves to sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching you were entrusted to,

The LORD took him outside and said,“ Gaze into the sky and count the stars– if you are able to count them!” Then he said to him,“ So will your descendants be.”

Stay in this land. Then I will be with you and will bless you, for I will give all these lands to you and to your descendants, and I will fulfill the solemn promise I made to your father Abraham.

“ You are the LORD God who chose Abram and brought him forth from Ur of the Chaldeans. You changed his name to Abraham.When you perceived that his heart was faithful toward you, you established a covenant with him to give his descendants the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, and the Girgashites. You have fulfilled your promise, for you are righteous.

“‘ I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries; then I will bring you to your land.

and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.

In the same way, wives, be subject to your own husbands. Then, even if some are disobedient to the word, they will be won over without a word by the way you live,

And by being perfected in this way, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,
