By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.

Noah had faith. So he built an ark to save his family. He built it because of his great respect for God. God had warned him about things that could not yet be seen. Because of his faith Noah showed the world that it was guilty. Because of his faith he was considered right with God.

By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

Then God said to Noah,“ I have decided to put an end to every creature, for the earth is filled with wickedness because of them; therefore I am going to destroy them along with the earth.“ Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it with pitch inside and outside.This is how you are to make it: The ark will be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.You are to make a roof, finishing the sides of the ark to within eighteen inches of the roof. You are to put a door in the side of the ark. Make it with lower, middle, and upper decks.“ Understand that I am bringing a flood— floodwaters on the earth to destroy every creature under heaven with the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark with your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives.You are also to bring into the ark two of all the living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.Two of everything— from the birds according to their kinds, from the livestock according to their kinds, and from the animals that crawl on the ground according to their kinds— will come to you so that you can keep them alive.Take with you every kind of food that is eaten; gather it as food for you and for them.”And Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him.Then the LORD said to Noah,“ Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.

He wiped out every living thing that was on the face of the earth, from mankind to livestock, to creatures that crawl, to the birds of the sky, and they were wiped off the earth. Only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the ark.

A sensible person sees danger and takes cover; the inexperienced keep going and are punished.

Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live”— the declaration of the Lord GOD—“ they could not rescue their son or daughter. They would rescue only themselves by their righteousness.

“ Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man:

Simeon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ: To those who have received a faith equal to ours through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

and if he didn’t spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others, when he brought the flood on the world of the ungodly;

The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, since there is no distinction.

For we eagerly await through the Spirit, by faith, the hope of righteousness.

The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at Jonah’s preaching; and look— something greater than Jonah is here.The queen of the south will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and look— something greater than Solomon is here.

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ— the righteousness from God based on faith.

Through these the world of that time perished when it was flooded.

When he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them,“ Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were going to marry his daughters.“ Get up,” he said.“ Get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman over the house of Israel. When you hear a word from my mouth, give them a warning from me.If I say to the wicked person,‘ You will surely die,’ but you do not warn him— you don’t speak out to warn him about his wicked way in order to save his life— that wicked person will die for his iniquity. Yet I will hold you responsible for his blood.But if you warn a wicked person and he does not turn from his wickedness or his wicked way, he will die for his iniquity, but you will have rescued yourself.

And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while still uncircumcised. This was to make him the father of all who believe but are not circumcised, so that righteousness may be credited to them also.

“ Come out of the ark, you, your wife, your sons, and your sons’ wives with you.

“ So when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place”( let the reader understand),

What should we say then? Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained righteousness— namely the righteousness that comes from faith.

But the righteousness that comes from faith speaks like this: Do not say in your heart,“ Who will go up to heaven?” that is, to bring Christ down

For in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah boarded the ark.

During his earthly life, he offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

Tomorrow at this time I will rain down the worst hail that has ever occurred in Egypt from the day it was founded until now.Therefore give orders to bring your livestock and all that you have in the field into shelters. Every person and animal that is in the field and not brought inside will die when the hail falls on them.”Those among Pharaoh’s officials who feared the word of the LORD made their servants and livestock flee to shelters,but those who didn’t take to heart the LORD’s word left their servants and livestock in the field.

And Noah did everything that the LORD commanded him.

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.

These are the family records of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among his contemporaries; Noah walked with God.

Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.
