By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.The watchmen that go about the city found me:[ to whom I said], Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?[ It was] but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.

The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness[ shall be] a sure reward.

They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;Wondrous works in the land of Ham,[ and] terrible things by the Red sea.

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am[ he], ye shall die in your sins.

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I[ am] thy shield,[ and] thy exceeding great reward.

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you,[ even] the sure mercies of David.

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and[ to] the evil.

And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

So that a man shall say, Verily[ there is] a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold[ water] only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

And the head of Ephraim[ is] Samaria, and the head of Samaria[ is] Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites[ are]: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great[ is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.Therefore when thou doest[ thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
