By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

Abel had faith. So he brought to God a better offering than Cain did. Because of his faith Abel was praised as a godly man. God said good things about his offerings. Because of his faith Abel still speaks. He speaks even though he is dead.

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.

It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.

过了一些日子，该隐拿地里的出产为供物献给耶和华；亚伯也把他羊群中头生的和羊的脂肪献上。耶和华看中了亚伯和他的供物，却看不中该隐和他的供物。该隐就非常生气，沉下脸来。

如此，地上所有义人流的血都归到你们身上，从义人亚伯的血起，直到你们在圣所和祭坛中间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止。

我们要彼此相爱。这就是你们从起初所听到的信息。不要像该隐；他是属那邪恶者，杀了自己的弟弟。为什么杀了他呢？因为自己的行为是邪恶的，而弟弟的行为是正直的。

耶和华说：“你做了什么事呢？你弟弟血的声音从地里向我哀号。

并新约的中保耶稣，以及所洒的血；这血所说的信息比亚伯的血所说的更美。

恶人献祭，为耶和华所憎恶；正直人祈祷，为他所喜悦。

他们有祸了！因为他们走该隐的道路，又为财利往巴兰的错谬里直奔，并在可拉的背叛中灭亡了。

恶人献的祭是可憎的，何况他存恶意来献呢？

该隐与他弟弟亚伯说话。二人正在田间时，该隐起来攻击他弟弟亚伯，把他杀了。

就是从亚伯的血起，直到被杀在祭坛和圣所中间的撒迦利亚的血为止。是的，我告诉你们，这都要向这世代的人追讨。

有火从耶和华面前出来，焚烧了坛上的燔祭和脂肪；全体百姓一看见，就都欢呼，脸伏于地。

按着律法，几乎每样东西都是用血洁净的；没有流血，就没有赦罪。

耶和华对他说：“既然如此，凡杀该隐的，必遭报七倍。”耶和华就给该隐立一个记号，免得人遇见他就杀他。

亚当又与妻子同房，她就生了一个儿子，给他起名叫塞特，说：“上帝给我立了另一个子嗣代替亚伯，因为该隐杀了他。”

所以，既然我们有这许多见证人如同云彩围绕着我们，就该卸下各样重担和紧紧缠累的罪，以坚忍的心奔那摆在我们前头的路程，

于是，耶和华降下火来，烧尽燔祭、木柴、石头、尘土，又烧干了沟里的水。

他们宣称认识上帝，却在行为上否认他；他们是可憎恶的，是悖逆的，不配做任何好事。
