By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

Abel had faith. So he brought to God a better offering than Cain did. Because of his faith Abel was praised as a godly man. God said good things about his offerings. Because of his faith Abel still speaks. He speaks even though he is dead.

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.

It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.

到了收成的时候，该隐把地里的出产当祭物献给耶和华，亚伯也把羊群中头生的羊及其最肥美的部分献给耶和华。耶和华悦纳亚伯和他的祭物，却不悦纳该隐和他的祭物。该隐便非常恼火，面带怒容。

因此，所有义人在地上所流的血，就是从义人亚伯的血，直到你们在圣所和祭坛之间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血，都要归到你们身上。

我们应当彼此相爱，这是你们起初听见的信息。不要步该隐的后尘。他属于那恶者，杀害了自己的弟弟。他为什么要杀害自己的弟弟呢？因为他的行为邪恶，而他弟弟秉行公义。

耶和华说：“你做了什么事？你弟弟的血从地里向我哭诉。

还有新约的中保耶稣和祂所流的血。这血比亚伯的血发出更美的信息。

耶和华憎恨恶人的祭物，悦纳正直人的祈祷。

他们大祸临头了！他们步了该隐的后尘，为谋利而重蹈巴兰的谬误，又像可拉一样因叛逆而灭亡。

恶人的祭物已经可憎，何况他怀着恶意来献！

该隐对弟弟亚伯说：“我们去田间吧！”他们在田间的时候，该隐动手打亚伯，把他杀了。

有火从耶和华那里降下来，烧尽祭坛上的燔祭和脂肪。民众看见这景象，都欢呼起来，俯伏在地。

根据律法，几乎所有的器具都要用血来洁净，因为若不流血，罪就得不到赦免。

耶和华对他说：“不会的，因为凡杀你的，必遭受七倍的报应。”于是，耶和华在该隐身上留下一个记号，免得见到他的人杀他。

亚当又与妻子夏娃同房，夏娃生了一个儿子，取名叫塞特，因为她说：“上帝赐我另一个儿子来代替亚伯，因为该隐杀了他。”

既然有这么多见证人像云彩一般围绕着我们，我们就要放下一切重担，摆脱容易缠累我们的罪，以坚忍的心奔跑我们前面的赛程，

于是，耶和华降火烧尽了祭物、木柴、石头、尘土，甚至沟里的水。

他们自称认识上帝，在行为上却否认祂。他们令人可憎，悖逆成性，一无是处。
