適耶洗別欲殲滅耶和華諸先知、阿巴底匿先知百人於巖穴、每穴五十人、以水以餅為其養贍。

入穴而居、耶和華問之曰、以利亞在此何為。

大闢離彼、遁於亞土蘭穴、其兄弟與其父全家聞此、咸來相就。

掃羅既襲非利士人而後、乃旋其軍。或告曰、大闢在隱其底野。掃羅簡以色列族軍士三千、往山羊之巖、以索大闢、及其群從。至途間羊牢之所、其旁有穴、入而寢、大闢與從者亦在穴中。

西弗人至其庇亞、見掃羅、曰、大闢匿於哈基拉山、耶是門相向之所。

施仁行義之輩、淹忽以沒、人不以為意、不知其逝世者、正以避患耳。

昔耶洗別欲殺耶和華之先知、我匿百人於巖穴、每穴五十人、以水以餅而供給之、此事爾豈不聞乎。

耶和華兮、我呼籲爾、祈禱爾兮、陳情於前、我之苦衷、願得傾吐兮、我喪厥膽、我之所為、主無不知、我在途中、人設網以害予兮、我左右而望、眷顧者無人、輔翼者無人、且無逋逃之藪兮、耶和華兮、我呼籲爾、爾範衛余、我之在世、惟爾是望兮、我遘災特甚、爾聽我祈、敵強我弱、爾其拯余兮。爾脫我於幽囚、我頌爾之聲名、爾施厚恩於我、則義人來歸兮。

爾當旋歸、足履城時、爾子必死。以色列族眾、必哭而葬之、屬耶羅破暗者、惟此子得葬於墓、蓋彼一人行善於以色列族上帝耶和華前。

如其藏身之地、知之甚確、則來告我、我偕爾往、若彼在猶大郡中、我必遍索之。

約西亞循摩西律例、一心一志、盡其能力、歸於耶和華、自昔迄今、至於後世、未有王若是之善也。然馬拿西作不善、干耶和華震怒、故耶和華之於猶大族怒猶未息。耶和華曰、我將驅猶大族、與驅以色列族無異、昔我簡耶路撒冷、爰及此殿、為籲我名之所、今必厭棄之。約西亞事實、備載於猶大列王紀畧。當時埃及王法老尼哥、往百辣河、攻亞述王、約西亞王禦之、被殺於米吉多。

西弗人至其庇亞、覲掃羅、曰、大闢匿於我地、處於叢林、扼其險要、在哈基拉山、耶是門南。

汝往哉、適彼東方、近約但之基立、隱於溪濱、

大闢知掃羅已出、卻害其命、時在西弗野林中。
