Then the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah saying,“ David is hiding on the hill of Hachilah opposite Jeshimon.”

The righteous person perishes, and no one takes it to heart; the faithful are taken away, with no one realizing that the righteous person is taken away because of evil.

Wasn’t it reported to my lord what I did when Jezebel slaughtered the LORD’s prophets? I hid a hundred of the prophets of the LORD, fifty men to a cave, and I provided them with food and water.

I cry aloud to the LORD; I plead aloud to the LORD for mercy.I pour out my complaint before him; I reveal my trouble to him.Although my spirit is weak within me, you know my way. Some Ziphites came up to Saul at Gibeah and said,“ Isn’t it true that David is hiding among us in the strongholds in Horesh on the hill of Hachilah south of Jeshimon?

“ Leave here, turn eastward, and hide at the Wadi Cherith where it enters the Jordan.

David was in the Wilderness of Ziph in Horesh when he saw that Saul had come out to take his life.
