But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.And from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.And when Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:These also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.

And when he came near unto the den to Daniel, he cried with a lamentable voice; the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.Then was the king exceeding glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he had trusted in his God.

Now to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his seed. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

And David built round about from Millo and inward.And David waxed greater and greater; for Jehovah, the God of hosts, was with him.And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar- trees, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.And these are the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.And when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the stronghold.Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And Jehovah said unto David, Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into thy hand.And David came to Baal- perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah hath broken mine enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal- perazim.And they left their images there; and David and his men took them away.And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.And when David inquired of Jehovah, he said, Thou shalt not go up: make a circuit behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry- trees.And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry- trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then is Jehovah gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.And David did so, as Jehovah commanded him, and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gezer.

Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel; and I will cause thee to rest from all thine enemies. Moreover Jehovah telleth thee that Jehovah will make thee a house.When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, that shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men;but my lovingkindness shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.And thy house and thy kingdom shall be made sure for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
