By faith he left Egypt without fearing the king’s anger, for he persevered as though he could see the one who is invisible.

彼以信而去埃及、不畏王怒、蓋堅忍如見莫能見者、

摩西有信、則離埃及不惴王怒、其恆心如見無形之上帝、

彼有信、離伊及不畏王怒、彼有恆心、如見不可見者、

厥後又憑信德、不恤君王之震怒、而逃出埃及。蓋其心目中常有形而上之天主、故能百折不撓、磨而不磷也。

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.

Because of his faith, Moses left Egypt. It wasn’t because he was afraid of the king’s anger. He didn’t let anything stop him. That’s because he saw the God who can’t be seen.

By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.

It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.

By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he persevered, as though seeing Him who is unseen.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.

By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees Him who is invisible.

These all died in faith without receiving the things promised, but they saw them in the distance and welcomed them and acknowledged that they were strangers and foreigners on the earth.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.

The man replied,“ Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? Are you planning to kill me like you killed that Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, thinking,“ Surely what I did has become known.”When Pharaoh heard about this event, he sought to kill Moses. So Moses fled from Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian, and he settled by a certain well.

Now to the eternal king, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

When Pharaoh got closer, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians marching after them, and they were terrified. The Israelites cried out to the LORD,and they said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the desert? What in the world have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?Isn’t this what we told you in Egypt,‘ Leave us alone so that we can serve the Egyptians, because it is better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!’”Moses said to the people,“ Do not fear! Stand firm and see the salvation of the LORD that he will provide for you today; for the Egyptians that you see today you will never, ever see again.

Pharaoh said to him,“ Go from me! Watch out for yourself! Do not appear before me again, for when you see my face you will die!”Moses said,“ As you wish! I will not see your face again.”

So all the Israelites did exactly as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron.

I constantly trust in the LORD; because he is at my right hand, I will not be upended.

It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

He alone possesses immortality and lives in unapproachable light, whom no human has ever seen or is able to see. To him be honor and eternal power! Amen.

The LORD said to Moses in Midian,“ Go back to Egypt, because all the men who were seeking your life are dead.”

The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Sukkoth. There were about 600,000 men on foot, plus their dependants.A mixed multitude also went up with them, and flocks and herds– a very large number of cattle.They baked cakes of bread without yeast using the dough they had brought from Egypt, for it was made without yeast– because they were thrust out of Egypt and were not able to delay, they could not prepare food for themselves either.Now the length of time the Israelites lived in Egypt was 430 years.At the end of the 430 years, on the very day, all the regiments of the LORD went out of the land of Egypt.It was a night of vigil for the LORD to bring them out from the land of Egypt, and so on this night all Israel is to keep the vigil to the LORD for generations to come.

This is how you are to eat it– dressed to travel, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You are to eat it in haste. It is the LORD’S Passover.

But remember the former days when you endured a harsh conflict of suffering after you were enlightened.

keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.Think of him who endured such opposition against himself by sinners, so that you may not grow weary in your souls and give up.

But the person who endures to the end will be saved.

When Pharaoh released the people, God did not lead them by the way to the land of the Philistines, although that was nearby, for God said,“ Lest the people change their minds and return to Egypt when they experience war.”So God brought the people around by the way of the desert to the Red Sea, and the Israelites went up from the land of Egypt prepared for battle.Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for Joseph had made the Israelites solemnly swear,“ God will surely attend to you, and you will carry my bones up from this place with you.”They journeyed from Sukkoth and camped in Etham, on the edge of the desert.Now the LORD was going before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them in the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel day or night.

For David says about him,‘ I saw the Lord always in front of me, for he is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken.

You have not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,

All these your servants will come down to me and bow down to me, saying,‘ Go, you and all the people who follow you,’ and after that I will go out.” Then Moses went out from Pharaoh in great anger.

You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Think of how we regard as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and you have seen the Lord’s purpose, that the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

And so by persevering, Abraham inherited the promise.

because we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.

But they have no root in themselves and do not endure. Then, when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, immediately they fall away.

And you will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
