就在那時，摩西生了下來，上帝看為俊美，在父親家裏被撫養了三個月。

那女人懷孕，生了一個兒子，見他俊美，就把他藏了三個月，後來不能再藏，就取了一個蒲草箱，抹上柏油和樹脂，將孩子放在裏面，把箱子擱在尼羅河邊的蘆葦中。孩子的姊姊遠遠站着，要知道他究竟會怎樣。法老的女兒來到尼羅河邊洗澡，她的女僕們在河邊行走。她看見在蘆葦中的箱子，就派一個使女把它拿來。她打開箱子，看見那孩子。看哪，男孩在哭，她就可憐他，說：「這是希伯來人的一個孩子。」孩子的姊姊對法老的女兒說：「我去叫一個希伯來婦人來作奶媽，替你乳養這孩子，好嗎？」法老的女兒對她說：「去吧！」那女孩就去叫了孩子的母親來。法老的女兒對她說：「你把這孩子抱去，替我乳養這孩子，我必給你工錢。」那婦人就把孩子接過來，乳養他。孩子長大了，婦人把他帶到法老的女兒那裏，就作了她的兒子。她給孩子起名叫摩西，說：「因我把他從水裏拉出來。」

「我的朋友，我對你們說，那最多只能殺人身體而不能再做甚麼的，不要怕他們。我提醒你們該怕的是誰：該怕那殺了以後又有權柄把人扔在地獄裏的。是的，我告訴你們，正要怕他。

蟲子雅各，以色列人哪，不要害怕！我必幫助你；救贖你的是以色列的聖者。這是耶和華說的。

那殺人身體但不能滅人靈魂的，不要怕他們；惟有那能在地獄裏毀滅身體和靈魂的，才要怕他。

耶和華在我這邊，我必不懼怕，人能把我怎麼樣呢？

所以，我們可以勇敢地說：「主是我的幫助，我必不懼怕。人能把我怎麼樣呢？」

你不要害怕，因為我與你同在；不要驚惶，因為我是你的上帝。我必堅固你，幫助你，用我公義的右手扶持你。

沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌對王說：「尼布甲尼撒啊，這件事我們不必回答你，即便如此，我們所事奉的上帝能將我們從烈火的窰中救出來。王啊，他必救我們脫離你的手；即或不然，王啊，你當知道，我們絕不事奉你的神明，也不拜你所立的金像。」

但以理知道這文件已經簽署，就進自己的家，他家樓上的窗戶開向耶路撒冷。他一天三次，雙膝跪着，在他的上帝面前禱告感謝，像平常一樣。

我，惟有我是安慰你們的。你是誰，竟怕那必死的人，怕那生命如草的世人，

我倚靠上帝，我要讚美他的話語；我倚靠上帝，必不懼怕。血肉之軀能把我怎麼樣呢？

知道公義、將我的訓誨存在心中的人哪，當聽從我！不要怕人的辱罵，也不要因人的毀謗驚惶。

「這百姓說同謀背叛的，你們不要說同謀背叛。他們所怕的，你們不要怕，也不要畏懼；但要尊萬軍之耶和華為聖，他才是你們所當怕的，所當畏懼的。
