那女人懷孕，生個兒子；見他俊美，就把他藏了三個月。後來再也不能藏了，就取個蒲草箱，抹上石漆和石油，將孩子放在裏頭，給放在河邊的蘆葦中。孩子的姐姐遠遠地站着，要知道他究竟怎麼樣。法老的女兒下河來洗澡，她的女僕們在河沿上走着。她看見箱子在蘆葦中，就打發一個使女去取來。一打開，看見那孩子；見是個小嬰兒哭着，就憐惜他，說：『這是希伯來人的一個孩子。』孩子的姐姐對法老的女兒說：『我去從希伯來婦人中給你叫個奶媽、來替你奶這孩子、好不好？』法老的女兒對她說：『好，你去吧。』童女就去，把孩子的母親叫來，法老的女兒對她說：『你把這孩子抱去，替我奶他；我給你工價。』婦人就抱了孩子去奶他。孩子漸漸長大，婦人把他帶到法老的女兒那裏，他就做了她的兒子。她給孩子起名叫摩西，說：『是因為我把他從水裏拉出來。』

我向你們做我朋友的說，對那殺身體、以後再沒有甚麼可作的、你們不要怕。我要指示你們應當怕誰：你們要怕那把你們殺了以後、又有權柄把你們丟在地獄裏的；實在的、我告訴你們，你們要怕這一位。

不要懼怕哦！蟲子雅各啊！蛆蟲以色列啊！是我要幫助你，永恆主發神諭說；贖回你者、是以色列的聖者。

對那些殺身體而不能殺靈魂的，你們不要怕；惟獨對那能把靈魂又把身體都滅在地獄裏的，你們倒要怕。

有永恆主在為我，我不懼怕；人能把我怎麼樣呢？

所以我們可以放膽說：『主是援助我的，我必不懼怕；人能把我怎麼樣呢？』

你不要懼怕，因為是我與你同在；不要彷徨張望，因為是我做你的上帝；我必堅固你，我一定幫助你；一定用我義氣的右手扶持你。

沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌應時對王說：『尼布甲尼撒王啊，這件事我們無需乎回答你。即便如此，我們所事奉的上帝也能將我們從烈火燃燒着的窰中解救出來；王啊，他是一定會解救我們脫離你的手的。即或不然，王啊，願你知道、我們也決不事奉你的神，不向你所立的金像下拜。』

但以理呢、雖明知有詔書經已簽蓋，他仍進入自己房屋——這房屋在房頂屋子裏、有窗戶開着、向着耶路撒冷——但以理仍然一日三次雙膝跪下、在他的上帝面前禱告稱謝，全照前此所作的。

『是我，我親自安慰你們的；你怎麼啦，你竟怕那會死的人，怕那生成如草的世人呀！

乃是上帝；我要誇讚他的話；我倚靠的乃是上帝，我不懼怕；血肉之人能把我怎麼樣呢？

『認識公義、將我的律法存於心中的人民哪，聽我吧！不要怕人的辱罵，不要因人的毁謗而驚慌；

『凡這人民所叫做陰謀的、你們不要都叫做陰謀；他們所怕的、你們可別怕，可別畏懼。但對萬軍之永恆主呢、你們倒要看為陰謀者，倒要以他為你們所當怕、所當畏懼的。
