就在那时候，摩西出生了，他非常俊美，在父亲的家中抚养了三个月。

那女人怀孕，生了一个儿子；见他俊美，就把他藏了三个月。直到她不能把他再藏了，就拿一个蒲草箱来，涂上沥青和石漆；把孩子放在里面，把箱子放在河边的芦苇丛中。孩子的姊姊远远地站着，要知道孩子究竟怎样。那时，法老的女儿下到河边去洗澡；她的使女们在河边行走；她看见了在芦苇中的箱子，就打发自己的使女去把箱子拿过来。她打开了，就看见那孩子；看哪，孩子哭了，她就怜悯他，说：“这是希伯来人的一个孩子。”孩子的姊姊对法老的女儿说：“我去从希伯来妇人中给你请一个奶妈来，为你乳养这个孩子可以吗？”法老的女儿回答：“你去吧。”童女就去把孩子的母亲请了来。法老的女儿对她说：“你把这孩子抱去，替我乳养他，我必给你工钱。”妇人就抱了孩子去乳养他。孩子长大了，妇人把他带到法老的女儿那里，他就作了法老女儿的儿子。她给孩子起名叫摩西，说：“因为我把他从水里拉出来。”

“我的朋友，我告诉你们，那杀身体以后不能再作什么的，不要怕他们。我要指示你们当怕的是谁：当怕那杀身体以后，有权把人投入地狱里的；我告诉你们，应当怕他。

虫子雅各啊！以色列人哪！你不要惧怕。我必帮助你；这是耶和华说的。你的救赎主，就是以色列的圣者。

那些杀身体却不能杀灵魂的，不要怕他们；倒要怕那位能把灵魂和身体都投入地狱里的。

耶和华是我的帮助，我决不害怕，人能把我怎么样呢？

所以我们可以放胆说：“主是我的帮助，我决不害怕，人能把我怎么样呢？”

不要惧怕，因为我与你同在；不要四处张望，因为我是你的神，我必坚固你，我必帮助你；我必用公义的右手扶持你。

沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌回答王说：“尼布甲尼撒啊！这件事我们无需回答你。如果我们被扔在火窑里，我们所事奉的神必能拯救我们；王啊！他必拯救我们脱离烈火的窑和你的手。（本节或译：“如果我们所事奉的神能拯救我们，王啊！他必拯救我们脱离烈火的窑和你的手。”）即或不然，王啊！你要知道，我们决不事奉你的神，也不向你所立的金像下拜。”

但以理知道这文告签署了以后，就上到自己家里楼顶上的房间，这房间的窗户朝向耶路撒冷开着；他一日三次双膝跪下，在他的神面前祷告称谢，像往日一样。

“我，我耶和华是安慰你们的；你是谁，竟怕那会死的人，怕那被造如草的世人呢？

靠着神，我要赞美他的话；我倚靠神，就必不惧怕，人能把我怎么样呢？

认识公义，把我的训诲存在心里的人民哪！你们要听我的话。你们不要怕人的辱骂，也不要因人的毁谤而惊惶。

“这子民所称为阴谋的，你们都不要称为阴谋；他们所怕的，你们不要怕，也不要畏惧。你们要尊万军之耶和华为圣，他是你们当怕的，也是你们当畏惧的。
