Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.

正如經上所記：「我已經指派你為眾多民族的父。」亞伯拉罕所信的那一位，就是叫死人得生命、使無變為有的神。亞伯拉罕在沒有盼望的時候，仍然懷著盼望去相信，因而成為眾多民族的父，正如先前所說：「你的後裔將要如此眾多。」他快到一百歲的時候，想到自己的身體如同已經死了，又想到撒拉也已經不能生育，但是他的信仰卻沒有軟弱。他也沒有因著不信去懷疑神的應許，反而因著信得以剛強，把榮耀歸給神，並且確信不疑：神所應許的，神也能成就。

到了第三天，亞伯拉罕舉目，從遠處看見了那地方。亞伯拉罕對他的僕人們說：「你們和驢子留在這裡吧，我和這少年要到那裡去敬拜，然後再回到你們這裡來。」

耶穌進了屋子，那兩個瞎眼的來到他面前。耶穌問他們：「你們相信我能做這件事嗎？」他們回答說：「主啊，是的，我們信。」

亞伯拉罕舉目觀看，看哪，身後有一隻公綿羊，犄角被灌木叢纏住了！亞伯拉罕就走過去，取了那隻公綿羊，代替自己的兒子獻為燔祭。

神能照著在我們裡面做工的大能，成就那遠超過我們所求所想的一切事——

同樣因著信，不能生育的撒拉，自己雖然過了年齡，還是領受了懷孕生子的能力，原來她認為向她應許的那一位是信實的。所以從一個如同已經死了的人，就生出了許多人，像天空的星那樣眾多，像海邊的沙那樣無法數算。

因為基督不是進入了人手所造的聖所——那不過是真聖所的象徵——而是進入了上天本身，如今替我們顯現在神的面前。

然而，從亞當到摩西，死亡掌了權，甚至那些沒有按亞當過犯的樣式犯罪的人，也在死的權下。這亞當是以後要來的那一位的象徵。
