even he to whom it was said, In Isaac shall thy seed be called:

主曾語之曰、爾裔將由以撒而稱、

彼有嫡子一人、雖蒙上帝許、言出自以撒者為其苗裔、而亦獻之、

論此子、天主雖語之曰、以撒所生者、方稱為爾之苗裔、而仍獻之、

天主曾謂之曰：『依灑格當為爾後裔之根。

even though God had said to him,“ It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”

God had said to him,“ Your family line will continue through Isaac.”( Genesis 21:12) Even so, Abraham was going to offer him up.

of whom it was said,“ Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

even though God had told him,“ Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.”

the one to whom it had been said, Your offspring will be traced through Isaac.

it was he to whom it was said,“ Through Isaac your descendants shall be named.”

of whom it was said,“ In Isaac your seed shall be called,”

the one it had been said about, Your seed will be traced through Isaac.

Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

God had told him,“ Through Isaac descendants will carry on your name,”

to whom it was said,“ Your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac,”

neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy handmaid; in all that Sarah saith unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

And God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.
