These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Angels desire to look into these things.

because he was fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

He said,“ Look, I am old and do not know the day of my death.Take your hunting gear, your quiver and bow, and go out in the field to hunt some game for me.Then make me a delicious meal that I love and bring it to me to eat, so that I can bless you before I die.”

Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you.

And if you address as Father the One who judges impartially based on each one’s work, you are to conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your temporary residence.

Joseph said to his brothers,“ I am about to die, but God will certainly come to your aid and bring you up from this land to the land He promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me.

Then Israel said to Joseph,“ Look, I am about to die, but God will be with you and will bring you back to the land of your fathers.

But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? For everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your own hand.For we live before You as foreigners and temporary residents in Your presence as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.

When Jacob had finished instructing his sons, he drew his feet into the bed and died. He was gathered to his people.

Isaiah said these things because he saw His glory and spoke about Him.

The scepter will not depart from Judah or the staff from between his feet until He whose right it is comes and the obedience of the peoples belongs to Him.

These are the tribes of Israel, 12 in all, and this was what their father said to them. He blessed them, and he blessed each one with a suitable blessing.
