耶和華啊，求你垂聽我的禱告，傾聽我的呼求！我流淚時，求你不要沉默！因為我在你面前是寄居的，是客旅，像我所有的祖先那樣。

「我在你們中間是寄居者，是客旅；請把你們中間的一塊地產給我作墳地，好讓我把死者從我身旁移去安葬。」

這些人雖然都藉著信受到了讚許，還是沒有領受到所應許的，

因著信，他不怕王的憤怒，離開了埃及，因為他恆心忍耐，如同看見了不可見的那一位。

雅各回答法老：「我在世寄居的年日有一百三十年了；我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先在世寄居的年日。」

由此可見，你們不再是外人，或寄居的；你們是聖徒的同國之民，是神家裡的人，

亞伯拉罕年邁高齡，盡享天年，氣絕而死，歸到他的先人那裡。

耶和華啊，我向來等候你的救恩！

我確實地告訴你們：曾經有許多先知和義人渴望看你們所看見的，卻沒有看到；渴望聽你們所聽見的，卻沒有聽到。

關於這救恩，那些預言你們要得著這恩典的先知，曾經尋求過，詳細查考過。他們查考了自己裡面基督之靈，當他預言有關基督的苦難和此後的榮耀時，究竟指明的是什麼時候、或什麼樣的情況。他們蒙了啟示，知道所服事的這一切，不是為自己，而是為你們。如今，這些事藉著從天上派來的聖靈，通過那些向你們傳福音的人，傳講給了你們；對於這些事，天使們也渴望能詳細察看。

並且確信不疑：神所應許的，神也能成就。

他說：「看哪，我已經老了，不知道哪一天會死。現在拿上你的獵具，箭囊和弓，到田野去為我打些野味。你要照我所喜愛的，為我做成美食，拿來給我吃，好讓我在死之前祝福你。」

各位蒙愛的人哪，我勸你們：做為過客和寄居的，要遠避那與你們靈魂爭戰的肉體欲望。

你們既然稱不偏待人、只按每個人的行為施行審判的那一位為父，就應當懷著敬畏的心，過你們寄居的日子，

約瑟對他的兄弟們說：「我就要死了，但神必定眷顧你們，還要把你們從這地帶上去，到他起誓要給亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的地去。」

我在地上是寄居者，求你不要向我隱藏你的誡命。

以色列對約瑟說：「看哪，我就要死了！但神必與你們同在，把你們帶回到你們祖先之地。

雅各吩咐完了兒子們，就把腳收到床榻上，然後斷了氣，歸到他的先人那裡了。

以賽亞說了這些話，是因為看見了耶穌的榮耀，就講論他的事。

權杖必不離開猶大，王杖必不離他兩腳之間，直到「細羅」來到，萬民都要歸順他。

以上就是以色列的十二支派；這是他們的父親對他們所說的話。他祝福他們，是按著各人的福份祝福他們。
