滿心相信神所應許的，神必能成就。

以撒說：“現在我已經老了，不知道甚麼時候會死。你現在拿你打獵的用具，就是你的箭囊和弓，出到田野去為我打獵。照我所喜歡的，給我預備美味的食物，拿來給我吃；好讓我在未死以前給你祝福。”

親愛的，我勸你們作客旅和寄居的人，要禁戒肉體的私慾，這私慾是與靈魂爭戰的。

你們既稱那不偏待人、按各人行為審判的主為父，就當存敬畏的心，過你們寄居的日子；

約瑟對他的兄弟們說：“我快要死了，但神必定眷顧你們，領你們從這地上到他起誓應許給亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各之地去。”

我是在世上作寄居的，求你不要向我隱瞞你的命令。

我算甚麼？我的人民又算甚麼？竟有力量這樣樂意奉獻？因為萬物都是從你而來，我們只是把從你手裡得來的，奉獻給你。我們在你面前是客旅，是寄居的，像我們的列祖一樣；我們在世上的日子好像影兒，沒有指望。

雅各對他的眾子囑咐完了，就把雙腳收回床上，氣絕而死，歸到他的親族那裡去了。

我看見他，卻不是現在；我望見他，卻不是近處；必有一星從雅各而出，必有一杖從以色列興起；他必打碎摩押的額角，粉碎一切舍特人的頭頂。

以賽亞說這些話，是因為看見了他的榮耀，就指著他說的。

權杖必不離開猶大，王圭必不離他兩腳之間，直到細羅﹙“細羅”有古譯本作“屬他的那位”﹚來到，萬族都要臣服他。

這些就是以色列的十二支派；以上是他們父親對他們所說的話，是按著各人的福分給他們所祝的福。
