所以從一個好像已死的人，竟然生出許多子孫來，仿佛天上的星那麼眾多，海邊的沙那麼無數。

所以從一個彷彿已死的人就生出子孫，如同天上的星那樣眾多，海邊的沙那樣無數。

所以，從一個彷彿已死的人竟生出子孫，如同天上的星那樣眾多，海邊的沙那樣無數。

故此竟從一個人、又是彷彿死了的、生出子孫來，像天上的星辰那麼眾多，像海濱的沙那麼無數。

所以從一個如同已經死了的人，就生出了許多人，像天空的星那樣眾多，像海邊的沙那樣無法數算。

故自一人猶已死者、生育如天星之繁多、海沙之無數、○

是以一人血氣雖衰、生育蕃衍、如眾星之在天、猶海沙之無量、

故由一人、身若已死者、生育蕃衍、如天星之眾、如海沙之無數、

因此之故、以一衰邁瀕死之人、其所出子孫、如天上之星、海濱之沙、有不可勝數者焉。

And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.

Abraham was past the time when he could have children. But many children came from that one man. They were as many as the stars in the sky. They were as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. No one could count them.

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead— a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them.

Therefore, from one man— in fact, from one as good as dead— came offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and as innumerable as the grains of sand along the seashore.

Therefore even from one man, and one who was as good as dead at that, there were born descendants who were just as the stars of heaven in number, and as the innumerable grains of sand along the seashore.

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude— innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea- shore, innumerable.

Therefore from one man— in fact, from one as good as dead— came offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven and as innumerable as the grains of sand by the seashore.

Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead,[ so many] as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

So in fact children were fathered by one man– and this one as good as dead– like the number of stars in the sky and like the innumerable grains of sand on the seashore.

Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead.

我必定賜福給你，必使你的後裔繁多，像天上的星，海邊的沙；你的後裔必佔領仇敵的城門。

你曾經說過：‘我必厚待你，使你的後裔好像海邊的沙一樣，多到不可勝數。’”

於是領他到外面去，說：“你向天觀看，數點眾星，看你能不能把它們數得清楚。”又對他說：“你的後裔將要這樣眾多。”

“然而，以色列人的數目，必多如海邊的沙，量不盡，數不完。從前在甚麼地方對他們說：‘你們不是我的子民’，將來要在那裡對他們說：‘你們是永活的神的兒子。’

我卻必使我僕人大衛的後裔和事奉我的利未人增多，像天上的萬象不能數算、海邊的沙粒不能斗量。’”

以色列啊！你的人民雖然像海沙那樣多，卻只有餘剩的人可以歸回，因為滅絕的事已經定了，公義必如洪水氾濫。

我必使你的後裔增多，好像天上的星那樣多；我必把這全地都賜給你的後裔；地上的萬國都必因你的後裔得福。

如經上所記：“我已經立了你作萬國的父。”他所信的，是叫死人得生命、使無變為有的神。在他沒有盼望的時候，仍然懷著盼望去信，因此就成了萬國的父，正如神所說：“你的後裔將要這樣眾多。”他快到一百歲的時候，想到自己的身體好像已經死了，撒拉也不能生育，他的信心還是不軟弱，

這些王與他們所有的軍隊都一同出來，人數眾多，好像海邊的沙，還有很多馬匹和車輛。

耶和華你們的神使你們多起來；你們看，你們今日像天上的星那樣多。

你使他們的子孫眾多，像天上的星星那麼多；你把他們帶進你應許他們的列祖要進去得為業的那地。

求你記念你的僕人亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各；你曾經指著自己向他們起誓，說：‘我必使你的後裔增多，好像天上的星一樣；我必把我應許的這全地賜給你的後裔，他們必永遠承受這地作產業。’”

他要出來迷惑地上四方的列國，就是歌革和瑪各，使他們聚集爭戰。他們的人數好像海邊的沙那麼多。

撒母耳對他們說：“今天耶和華在你們中間作見證，他的膏立者也作見證；你們在我手裡沒有找到甚麼。”他們說：“願他作證。”

那時米甸人、亞瑪力人和所有的東方人，都散布在平原上，好像蝗蟲那麼多；他們的駱駝無數，好像海邊的沙那麼多。

你的後裔必像海沙那麼多，你腹中的子孫要如沙粒這樣多；他們的名字必不會被剪除，也不會從我面前消滅。

以色列人二十歲以下的，大衛都沒有登記他們的數目，因為耶和華曾經說過要增添以色列人的數目，好像天上的星那樣多。

你們以前雖然像天上的星那麼多，現在剩下的人數卻寥寥可數，因為你不聽從耶和華你的神的話。

因此，我建議把以色列眾人，從但到別是巴，都聚集到你這裡來，好像海邊的沙那樣多，然後你親自率領他們上戰場。

以賽亞指著以色列人大聲說：“以色列子孫的數目雖然多如海沙，得救的不過是剩下的餘數；

猶大人和以色列人很多，像海邊的沙那樣多；他們都吃喝、快樂。

他們定著臉面向前，齊來行暴，擄獲戰俘多如塵沙。
