By faith, even though Sarah herself was barren and he was too old, he received the ability to procreate, because he regarded the one who had given the promise to be trustworthy.

因着信，连撒拉自己，虽然过了生育的岁数，还能怀孕，因她以为那应许她的是可信的。

因着信，撒拉自己已过了生育的年龄还能怀孕，因为她认为应许她的那位是可信的；

同樣因著信，不能生育的撒拉，自己雖然過了年齡，還是領受了懷孕生子的能力，原來她認為向她應許的那一位是信實的。

撒拉有信、雖逾生育之年、尚能懷妊、以許之者誠信也、

撒拉有信、雖老、上帝賜之懷妊誕育、以為所許者言出惟行、

撒拉有信、雖過生育之期、尚能懷妊生子、因彼以應許者為可信、

厥婦灑蕾、亦憑信德、以一不育之身、重以耄耋之年、竟能懷妊誕育；蓋彼固信天主之無虛諾也。

And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.

And Sarah had faith. So God made it possible for her to become a mother. She became a mother even though she was too old to have children. But Sarah believed that the God who made the promise was faithful.

By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.

It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.

By faith even Sarah herself, when she was unable to have children, received power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age, since she considered that the one who had promised was faithful.

By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.

By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

Abraham and Sarah were old and advancing in years; Sarah had long since passed menopause.)So Sarah laughed to herself, thinking,“ After I am worn out will I have pleasure, especially when my husband is old too?”The LORD said to Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh and say,‘ Will I really have a child when I am old?’Is anything impossible for the LORD? I will return to you when the season comes round again and Sarah will have a son.”

He did not waver in unbelief about the promise of God but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.He was fully convinced that what God promised he was also able to do.

And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

The LORD visited Sarah just as he had said he would and did for Sarah what he had promised.So Sarah became pregnant and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the appointed time that God had told him.

Then Abraham bowed down with his face to the ground and laughed as he said to himself,“ Can a son be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”Abraham said to God,“ O that Ishmael might live before you!”God said,“ No, Sarah your wife is going to bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm my covenant with him as a perpetual covenant for his descendants after him.

“ And look, your relative Elizabeth has also become pregnant with a son in her old age– although she was called barren, she is now in her sixth month!

For in the same way the holy women who hoped in God long ago adorned themselves by being subject to their husbands,like Sarah who obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. You become her children when you do what is good and have no fear in doing so.
