So when he came into the world, he said,“ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.

“ To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord.“ I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fed cattle. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, Or of lambs or goats.

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.Then I said,“ Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness— by whose stripes you were healed.

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying,“ Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:“ Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated,“ God with us.”

But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:“ Let all the angels of God worship Him.”

By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come— in the volume of the book it is written of Me— to do Your will, O God.’”

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me.I will not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your folds.For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine.“ If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High.Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”But to the wicked God says:“ What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth,Seeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you?When you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have been a partaker with adulterers.You give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit.You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son.These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes.“ Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver:Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.”

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

And the angel answered and said to her,“ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”

“ I hate, I despise your feast days, And I do not savor your sacred assemblies.Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, Nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings.

How long will you gad about, O you backsliding daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing in the earth— A woman shall encompass a man.”

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

and said to Him,“ Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”

For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer.

And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying,“ Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”

For what purpose to Me Comes frankincense from Sheba, And sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, Nor your sacrifices sweet to Me.”
